What a conference!! Thank you @britsocimm.bsky.social Immunometabolism affinity group for an amazing 2 days in Newcastle for #UKimmunomet26 - learned so much and met even more amazing people it was the best! 🤩🤓🤩
Sad I missed @dianaematei.bsky.social smashing it at the #BSIimmunometabolism conference bright sparks session… but incredibly happy to be at #EWRR in beautiful Lubeck with the best conference entertainment of all time. The Rosser group seems to be on tour this week!

Brilliant to hear @uniofexeternews.bsky.social awarded £4.5M from @wellcometrust.bsky.social to develop specialist bioimaging tools for WHO-priority fungal pathogens.
Led by #ListerFellow Liz Ballou @balloulab.bsky.social at @mrccmm.bsky.social. Huge congrats, a fastastic achievement 👏
Just in case you missed it!

We don't know why women are more likely to develop autoimmune diseases than men.
@bcellsrosser.bsky.social & her group at UCL are looking into the role of sex & gender in immunity.
Recently, the group examined differences in immune cell responses between men & women with #lupus: shorturl.at/XBRRe
Yes I’m retweeting my own post… in case you need some weekend reading!!
Excited to share the latest preprint from the lab "Fluctuating environments are sufficient to drive substantial variability in species abundance across locations" now up on arXiv arxiv.org/abs/2603.02403 🎉
A paper at some point seemed that it would be left in a lab book and was worked on through a pandemic. Thanks to @dianaematei.bsky.social for persevering with this one. Please check it out 👇

Investigating the role of Type I Interferon Signaling on Muscle Disease using mouse models. Graphical abstract created using BioRender
Type I interferons are a key driver of muscle damage in autoimmune myositis. Using two mouse models, this study showed that tofacitinib reduces the IFN signature in muscle, and that IFNβ overexpression directly induces muscle inflammation and weakness

How age, sex and genetics shape our antibodies ?
A team of scientists from the Institut Pasteur, the @cnrs.fr and the @college-de-france.fr have shown that these factors determine not only the quantity of antibodies produced but also the specific viral regions they target. ↘️
