An audiobook platform run by real, book loving humans? Revolutionary 😜

We’re real book lovers, real indie bookshop enthusiasts, real people who cancel plans to stay home to read...just like you.

Love reading audiobooks? Trying not to support big tech?

Hey hey 👋 We're an audiobook company that shares profits with indie bookshops. Not only are we a Certified B Corp, Social Purpose Corporation, & 100% employee owned, but our audiobooks are DRM-free—meaning you can listen to them anywhere.

As near as I can tell, every university/school has completely embraced LLMs and are pushing them hard. This is unreal.

They're indoctrinating the youngest, most vulnerable members of society, creating an entire generation/class of people who WILL NOT BE ABLE TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES.

Perfect.

Just a reminder that we work especially hard to ensure our apps are accessible and enjoyable. We take your support and feedback seriously, and want you to have the best audiobook experience possible.

Enshittification is real, and we're not about that.

Stop reading books you don't enjoy. Just stop. If you're 50 pages in and you hate it, stop reading. There are so many other books. Give that one away, find another one.

Magazines make it so hard. I have a Vanity Fair subscription. I am logged in. I am trying to read an article but the paywall is there saying I am not a subscriber. Which I am. I click on subscribe just for fun and it says no need you’re a subscriber. Which I am. I refresh. Rinse and repeat. Come on.

So based on replies I am seeing, some folks are confused about NATO.

NATO exists to mutually defend Europe from Russian aggression.

The alliance helping the US after 9/11 and growing in the wake of a global war on Islamic extremism was just how it played out in the 2000s.

Its purpose is Russia.

I’ve just been subjected to a version of Franco-Indian fusion food that will require professional help to overcome. Sharing the trauma is essential for healing. I was served underbaked Chicken Tikka Quiche. Runny yet sticky in all the wrong ways.

If you use GitHub (especially if you pay for it!!) consider doing this *immediately*

Settings -> Privacy -> Disallow GitHub to train their models on your code.

GitHub opted *everyone* into training. No matter if you pay for the service (like I do). WTH

Hi! We're an alternative to Amazon's Audible, & here are a few things that people often don't know about us:

1. We have over 600k audiobooks in our catalog! You'll pretty much find whatever you want to read, other than Audible exclusives (but that's on them, not us)

I know I'm not the first person to say this, but if you want books about wizards and dragons and magic, Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea novels are *right there* and they have about a million times more heart and beauty in them than anything JKR could ever write.

Last year I taught it in a Victorian-Victorianism (Steampunk) unit. I had a blast.😀

American tech oligarchs spend billions fighting socialism, yet their unhinged greed is the single best advertisement for it.

By hoarding wealth and breaking society to enrich themselves, they actively fuel the very ideology they claim to despise
