Oh we’ve been struggling with the “full screen” icon, I see. No consensus on design there, meanwhile the “sound” icon look is basically set in stone

“The star” fell and slipped underneath the desk calendar. Didn’t check in which orientation it was. What does that mean lol

Me, thorn for several days whether I should really dig into this new book idea or if I should let it go because it’s too ambitious

Getting to the office and seeing one of my displayed tarot card has dramatically fallen from its perch: well that’d be a message if I knew what the cards mean

Still cowl week for #showMeYourKnits 🧶- this is the start of my first Nennir cowl available at @knitty.com as a free pattern! This was my first venture into closed loop cables - some time this year I intend to embark on Morvach to try on a bigger scale. #knitsky

Ok so I’ve almost finished mapping out the first third batch of paths in this potential story and so far we have such banger endings as “goes insane”, “mass murder” and “becomes a catholic nun”

Okay but what if it’s kinda horror-y tho

Imagine you’re a werewolf and you’re stuck on this stupid island and there’s only your family on one side and this tiny village and weird catholic convent on the other… even the priest has to take the boat to come over every sunday. And you’re a werewolf and you’re so so hungry

Oh god what if the gothic choose your own adventure involved a family who monitors a lighthouse. Is that anything?

Types of Board Game

"It's a cross between Twilight Imperium and Cones of Dunshire, but implemented entirely in category theory. Every cone is a monad, and..."

Friends, I guffawed...

The British didn’t steal a whole ass tree from South America just for people nowadays to be like “who cares about Malaria” smh

Okay but WOULD any of you want to read a gothic romance/horror book that’s a first person pov choose your own adventure story where every path has at least one murder and everybody is problematic

Like, would that be fun or what

Just put a roundabout in the middle of one of these 12-lanes highway, that’ll fix it

Get with the times, guys. Obviously, you put plot-relevant details about the premise in a one-time Fornite event. And then reference it offhand in one line. "Somehow, Doom happened"

So who is going insane, who gets locked in the attic, who gets married to their cousin etc. really depends on what choices YOU the reader makes.

I just came up with the most fucked up book idea ever. If I could pull it off it would be wild but it would also be a 600 pages behemoth lolsob

Basically it would be like a gothic tale of love & hate but one of the character’s a werewolf AND also it’s a choose ur own adventure

A reddish and neutral illustration, a girl in a red hoodie with blonde hair stands at the top of a shattered glass building, reflection of other skyscrapers in its sides. A man folding his arms stands behind her. Crows fly around them and up above in the sky, clouds swirl in a circular pattern around them.

Over the weekend @veronicarothbooks.com announced her new book, THE SIXTH FACTION, which I had the supreme pleasure of drawing the cover for. Thank you so much to the team at HarperCollins, Amy and Joel, who were an absolute delight in every way, for asking me to work on this.

It wasn’t the clutterers who got mad at Marie Kondo (mostly). It was everyone else who had been salivating at the prospect of feeling smugly superior

When she came in with acceptance & kindness & helped people choose what to prioritize in their lives, even if that thing was “silly action figures”, people felt like they got scammed. Same as ppl who buy an autistic-friendly cookbook then get mad when it doesn’t tell them to force their kids to eat

Also I got the feeling a lot of people either feel self-righteous for behaving “properly” or they deeply want to be someone who behaves “properly” so what they want out of organization experts is for their views to be vindicated — they wanted her to shame ppl for owning too much stuff

I recently realized that I have been using the same white noise generator now for 26 years, almost every night. It's lasted longer than any other device in my possession. The only problem is that the plastic is breaking down and getting sticky ... but today, I fixed that! (1/3)

I go take a walk and, without fail, I will have a genius idea when I’m 30 minutes of power-walking away from my house

Imagine meeting the Artemis II astronauts and they’re constantly talking in Moon memes. They have the tightest group chat ever called You Had to Be There. Someone trips and they go “Cratered!” and high-five like a movie basketball team.

I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

The thing about Vancouver wanting a world class art gallery is we already have one.

The Museum of Anthropology combines two of the greatest visual contributions this land has shared with the world — West Coast Modernism and Northwest Coast Art — into a singular expression of this region.
