Quite aside from the heart reaching love that drives me to try to make the world somehow a little bit better, there is something about what they remind me about humankind. About what lives in us all, underneath the pain we inflict & what we could still rescue from the rubble.

What motivates you, deep down at the core of what matters most?
This week's #poetry share from me speaks to two of mine. On the surface it is a gentle observational share... but it is so much more than that.

What if I had #wings
What if I had not hidden my #joy in flight

It's like stretching before and after intense physical exercise, it creates the softness needed in the muscles which will be doing the work and protects from greater injuries caused by strain and over use.
We need these moments.

Today moments of #nature #joy
Bare feet in the grass and spring flowers in the sunshine.
I chased these moments, it's a conscious choice. Not because I wish to bypass the heartache and suffering of our world, but to make space for it in my heart. #connection #spring #flowers #barefoot #sun
I wonder what it was about this particular corner of this memorial stone that called to them, and I wonder what the message I am supposed to be hearing is?
Well here is a loveliness of #ladybirds for sure.
Today didn't go to plan. So I am sat in a park while a helpful mechanic checks out my car for me.
And I spotted the gathering. Reminding me that life is about so much more than broken cars and cancelled plans. #nature #connection #lifeiseverywhere
Studies have shown that Birdsong tells the body you’re safe. It lowers stress hormones, steadies the heart, and gently restores attention.
So here is a minute of birdsong and sunlight through the trees for you.

Your jug is not meant to be filled so it can be poured into others; it is meant to be so full it overflows.

Nothing is more important than living the moment right in front of you as fully as possible.

We have to let go of things — especially if we want to find what really matters.

We are part of #nature and are therefore meant to live in cycles, not straight lines.

this quote really landed with me today…..
“If grief can be a door way to love, then let us all weep for the world we are breaking apart so we can love it back to wholeness again”

Love this beautiful beech #tree. It grew on the edge of this rock ledge & had to find its way through gritstone to get to the fertile ground. It stands tall over a path I walk most days. & When #life feels hard it reminds me, that forming deep #roots can feel like a struggle, but it's worth it.
Motherhood is this constant balancing act, a dance of holding close and letting go, and it is full of mistakes and missteps.
Today's mostly been about simple joys. Sunshine, and making something with my hands…

I often say that what I offer isn’t quite Walk & Talk Therapy
It’s more of a Walk, Talk & Pause.
There is something powerful in forward motion
But there is equally something important in
slowing down
in the pause
in what arrives when we give space to what is

But so much of women’s labour goes unseen.
So many women feel invisible.
So much of who we are is not celebrated.
#internationalwomensday #women
Today, I want to honour the everyday, often invisible work of #women everywhere.
This is not to diminish the wondrous women who are raising their voices, breaking through ceilings, and calling for change with a roar that shakes the treetops. You are essential. You help us all breathe more freely.
I heard my first woodpecker of the year yesterday. It always gives me a little thrill…

Some of the most worrying impacts of nature loss weren’t disclosed to the public.
This is a must watch and makes clear what’s at stake if we fail to commit to urgent action for nature. 👇

Often we turn
our backs on the #sea
stand stubbornly
on the #sand
feet planted
hoping blindly
that #waves will not come for us
even though we can already feel them
lapping at our toes
But what if we turned
to face them
moved towards them
let our hearts be torn open
so that our souls
can fly #free
Have you laid down recently beneath a tree?
Staring up into the branches as they spiral to the Sky
Feel the breeze kiss your cheeks while it dances with the leaves
Let the ease seep in
As your limbs soften on the ground
The beat of your heart slowing
As you allow yourself to take root
Wandering in the #trees

Day 3 of sharing my #poems - Beneath a tree...
Day 2 of sharing my poems...
This is more prose than poetry perhaps, but it is a sample of some of the words that tumble out while I try to make sense of what is in my heart on one day of my daily woodland wanders.
I just want to live in a country where the leader can’t enrich themselves with our tax dollars, the government does what the people want, and the wealthy have to follow the laws.
You know, like a democracy.
