3 Things to Know from the October 6, 2025 meeting of the Goffstown Select Board.
Item 1: The Select Board voted to authorize the fire chief to post a bid request for a previously-budgeted study of Fire Station 2's age and the condition of plumbing, electrical, and heating systems in the building. The study will also look into energy efficiency and asbestos presence.
Item 2: The Select Board heard from the director of public works about potentially shifting some opening hours at the transfer station to accommodate the schedules of some residents; no action was taken as further information on usage rates for the current schedule is needed. At this point in the year, it would be too dark to keep it open later, so this will be revisited early next year.
Item 3: The Select Board voted to appoint Daniel King as an alternate member of the conservation commission; Jim Hallene as a member of the Parks & Rec commission; and Jean Walker as a cemetery trustee. Thank you to all for your service to Goffstown.

#Goffstown folks - drop me a follow and let me know you live in town so I can follow back. I’m going to start cross-posting my Select Board updates from Facebook on here as well. I don’t use this site much so it’s still best to contact me via email or Facebook.

Two weird chronological facts:

— There were Greek Buddhists before Chinese Buddhists

— There were Greek Buddhists before Greek (or any) Christians

People on the other app say I’m woke but I’m actually just a Metal Gear Solid fan

Do people even post about things other than politics on here? Before my town government meeting yesterday I spent the bulk of the day playing the Dragon Quest III Remake. I only played part of the original—my fondest DQ memories were on the Nintendo DS, but this remake is bringing them all back.

Sorry, haven’t been on here in a while.

The short version is that a candidate can only “file their way onto the ballot” once, meaning you have to pick a party or go (for L’s, G’s, etc) with a declaration of intent (i.e., start petitioning), but may win any/all of the other primaries via write-in.

I may or may not be able to make this a reality

17 Libertarians File to Run for Legislature in Mississippi

Mississippi has the highest grocery tax rate in the country, taking $7 out of every $100 a family spends on food.

It's a disgrace.

That's why we recruited 17 candidates for the state legislature who are committed to repealing Mississippi's grocery tax.

I replaced my A/C yesterday. Even though I’m not thrilled about the money spent, I spent a week holding out to convince myself I was noticing problems that weren’t there with the old one, but as soon as I bit the cannoli and just replaced it the improvement was immediate so that feels like a win.

Every two weeks you get to bring in someone new, as long as the majority of us only bring in people who won’t tarnish the vibe it will grow and stay positive.

As an Italian, “when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie” is a strikingly weak simile. We need to do better
