Moral psychology flourishes because of our variation in moral values both within and across cultures. I'm happy to see that our registered report protocol for developing and validating the MFQ-2 in German populations is out now! Next up: Data collection and analysis βοΈ π»
After legalization, cannabis consumption did not seem to increase in our sample. However, keep in mind, our data does not speak to cannabis consumption and possible changes on a more general population level.
We recruited a convenience sample of 605 German citizens 1 month (T1) after the recreational cannabis legalization and 6 months later (T2): Oneβs own and friendsβ positive attitudes and norms, behavioral intention and control in T1 predicted later cannabis consumption (T2).
Since April 1st, 2024, cannabis is legal in Germany β no April fool's joke! In our new publication (with @doomed-generation.bsky.social & @kaisassenberg.bsky.social), we ask: What are antecedents of recreational cannabis consumption? π§΅

New preprint available: Transparency and open data are important. In contrast to Elson et al. (2026) doi.org/10.31234/osf..., who have called for non-anonymized data in metascience, we argue for a more nuanced approach to prevent unjustified harm for authors of original work

Oh nice. I also did not know that mustard can be made in a mill. Fascinating!
Great talk! Looking forward to seeing the results of your research project - hopefully with more pictures of mills :)
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the EASP small group meeting on "Counterfactual thinking and its role in cognition and communication" starting later today here in Groningen

Results will be shared here!
Thank you for your feedback! We have added a comment field at the end of the survey. Given that a number of responses are already in, we are hesitant to change the questions beyond this, despite your suggestions being interesting and relevant.

People enjoy eating meat but often feel uneasy when being reminded that it comes from animals. To understand how people avoid this conflict, our new study explores how food preparation helps people mentally separate meat from its animal origins. Hereβs what we found π

Researchers are often advised to "reveal the person behind the science" in #scicomm to appear more approachable and trustworthy to their audiences. But does this really work? π€ In this short piece for Current Opinion in Psych, I review the recent literature... π 1/3

In a new preprint led by @abitter.bsky.social we tested whether open data is useful for reproducibility and usage based on automated and human assessment of data FAIRness. The short answer is: in the majority of cases not really. For more information π
The deadline for the meeting on counterfactuals is coming up. Don't forget to send in your contribution.
Great work by @abitter.bsky.social @mariogollwitzer.bsky.social @kaisassenberg.bsky.social @t-1m.bsky.social et al. on FAIR data sharing in Psychology.
They also suggest 6 simple checks that can be implemented in the editorial process to improve data FAIRness.
We're organizing an EASP small group meeting on counterfactuals in March 2026. More details can be found here:

New paper alert: @kwinter.bsky.social Laura Henn, and I show in 3 studies (N = 1005) that flexibility mindsets (induced by cognitive conflicts) enhance pro-environmental behavioral intentions among those initially low in pro-environmental attitudes.
