I reflect on how we make room for authoritarianism by depositing too much faith in liberal democracy and institutions that have failed us over and over again. I also continue my critique of national sovereignty and state competition.

Great to see this piece by @bamteixeira.bsky.social for the @berlinergazette.bsky.social that is in dialogue with the conceptual work I’ve been doing on ecological sovereignty. As someone who uses Barbara’s work in my own research, I love seeing these synergies.
