Giving me ideas for writing class exams now.
I suspect you’ll be sorely disappointed 😜
Slides for these talks are at: harriet-mason.github.io/talk-dicook2... , cynthiahqy.github.io/talk_SSA-202... , danyangdai.github.io/SSA-Di-Cook-... . The video will be posted soon.
Would you like to read all the articles from the 25 years of R special issue of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics? They are all freely accessible for the next month or so at onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/toc/10.1... #rstats
"Ozone hole" in grant descriptions by year, with two regression lines over a scatter plot
Bergogram plot: line plot of money awarded by year by NSF. 2025 and 2026 trail other years
Table of grants by US academic semester by state. In Spring 2026, New York has received 37 grants in total, Florida only 24
Word cloud of words in "formicidae" grants at NSF. "Ants" is most promient, also "species," "specimens," "project," and "collections."
Inspired by @jeremymberg.bsky.social & grant-witness.us, I've updated my rnsf #rstats package to include:
• Cache of public data on every #NSF grant (>500K)
• Info on every #GRFP
Tools for viz, examples of use, etc.

In one week I'll be talking about tips for reproducible R code and why science would love you to try these tips on your own code too 🧪😍🌏
It's an online talk, so feel free to watch comfortably from your couch. Hope to see you there!

I appreciate the post, Mans, and hope this leads to fixes. I do like using tidy models in teaching because it coordinates the vast disparities in different machine learning software. It helps the students better see similarities and differences.
Bumping this up because I’m sure you’re out there somewhere…

Just change the date. We would all like to celebrate together.
We are responding to this call for evidence:

Do you have concrete examples of the added value of #Rstats in the public or private sectors?
Include the most important factors (risk, lock-in, security, innovation...) to assess the added value.
Thanks!
Hi Ben, I hadn't seen this before so it's a nice addition to the list of reference papers. This work is summarised in projecteuclid.org/journalArtic... which we do reference. And also this one ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1953ApJ.... for comparing galaxy photos is delightful!
Didn’t try this one
We tried, and it's not as good. It could be made an option in the package though.

#RStats #useR2026
It is designed to use with ggplot2 graphics, and builds on the plot code and also brailleR, in addition to ChatGPT. It is very rudimentary so we need help testing and developing #rstats
Back in the top 10, baby!
Eat your heart out, "#rstats is dying" thinkpieces. 😜

HEY! YOU! ggdibbler 0.6.1 is finally up on CRAN!
harriet-mason.github.io/ggdibbler/in...
You can now pass random variables to any aesthetic in any ggplot geom/stat. If you can express it as a distribution, ggdibbler can plot it. It also works with ggplot extensions, like gganimate. #rstats
He looks like he’s brought the audience to tears!
I got to hear a sneak peek of Stephanie’s keynote, and it was so good! Definitely recommend watching if you work on teams adopting or transitioning to #RStats.
