Thanks to @chrisn.xyz and @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for this. It's been a hard year, and we have work to do. But we're in the fight, and we're proud that the @libdems.org.uk are in it with us. Trans rights are human rights. π§‘π³οΈββ§οΈ
We are proud to announce a full slate of #LibDems candidates in this year's elections to Reading Borough Council. Wherever you are, from Abbey to Whitley, from Abbatoirs Road to Zinzan Street, help us demand a fair deal for Reading #rdguk. π
Some people will know this already but happy to announce Iβve been successfully nominated as the Lib Dem candidate in Norcot, the ward Iβve been proud to call home for nearly two years in Reading. Already hard at work campaigning to show Labour the door! #rdguk #LE26

A picture of a grinning group of eight people holding orange, white and blue 'Council Topics' leaflets on a sunny day with a blue sky, on a suburban road.
Absolutely wonderful reception for us and @rwmblibdems.bsky.social in Tilehurst on a sunny spring day. Thanks to everyone who turned out. Very clear that residents know who does the hard work! π§‘
Very happy to see a close friend and fellow @york.ac.uk and uni of York Lib Dem alumni Caleb Pell elected tonight . Well done to OXWAB Lib Dems and look forward to replicating his success moving forward !
A Reform UK graphic announcing the defection of Cllr. Clarence Mitchell, from the Conservatives.
We see that Reform UK continues to be a retirement home for failed Conservatives, as erstwhile RBC Tory leader Clarence Mitchell defects to them.
A shameful, if predictable, move for the former press spokesperson for Cambridge Analytica. We wonder how long his Ukraine lapel pin will last?
Keir Starmer should condemn Trumpβs illegal action in Venezuela.
Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe.
Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.
#OTD 1950: Liberal Party member Harry Willcock is stopped while driving by police who demand to see his ID card. He refuses allegedly replying, 'I am a Liberal and I am against this sort of thing.' π§΅

Piece from me on Digital Services Tax and claims from Lib Dems last week that the government is planning to abolish it
Badenoch is such a ridiculous person.
Also the Romans literally had a welfare system that included cash transfers for poor children. (And subsidised grain for low income workers...).

Federal Lib Dem Internal election polls open tomorrow, and Iβm standing for one of your reps to Federal Policy Committee for a 3 year term. See below for my manifesto, and I am delighted to have received endorsement from @youngliberalsuk.bsky.social !
ps. @ulyssea.bsky.social has been great and will hopefully continue to be a credit on FPC. Have loved working with him this year and hope to live up to his past two years.
On a final note, I have been reelected as South Central YL Chair, and look forward to ensuring our branches are empowered whilst focusing how we best campaign for the Hampshire mayoral and a future Thames Valley mayoral region (whatever form that may be)
Pleased to welcome Mackenzie and Johan onto policy committee for the upcoming year, alongside @cormacevans.bsky.social and Tim being reelected, all people with great ideas, and I look forward to seeing who our Scottish and Welsh reps will be. Polcom will get the ball rolling soon!
I extend commiserations to @abrialjerram.bsky.social for a well fought campaign and great manifesto - heβs someone the wider party should value for his policy ideas and ensuring we are credible as we push to be a party capable of Government once more. Iβd love to see both of us on FPC!
Pleased to announce Iβve been elected as @youngliberalsuk.bsky.social Policy Officer from 1st Nov ! Looking forward to hitting the ground running and working on expanding outreach on policy across our organisation whilst picking up the task to rationalise our existing policy.
The Council of Europe has warned that the UK govβs treatment of trans people may breach human rights law.
This must be a wake up call.
Weβve seen an increase in hostility towards trans in recent years.
Everyone deserves dignity, safety, & respect - that includes trans people.
Tomorrow (Sat. 11/10/25) is the start of National Hate Crime Awareness Week.
We're proud of Reading's diversity and will always stand with victims and allies against hate. Statement from us below. π

Menzies Campbell, 1941-2025, in white on a black background, with Ming's sombre Parliamentary portrait picture in the centre, and the party logo in white at the bottom.
Ming Campbell was one of the most influential Lib Dems of the last few decades - his opposition to the Iraq War inspired a whole generation of Lib Dems to join, and his allyship on LGBT+ matters was always both strong, and appreciated.
He was also remarkably kind. We will miss him.
Now of course, I lied, I have done a full conference round up already, I was just too lazy to transpose it here. See below for my full round up on LinkedIn below!

Twice in two conferences I have stood up defending our digital rights, and I really appreciate the opportunity given to me by @libstemm.bsky.social , @victoria-collins.bsky.social & @ulyssea.bsky.social by supporting me at each stepβ¦
Ensuring that we protect LGBTQ+ forums and other areas that deal with sensitive subjects, ensure freedom of access to information for public interest and ensure news isnβt monopolised online by big publishers and ensure privacy measures like End-to-End encryption are upheld! β¦
And of course, in a big part of my Lib Dem career thus far, I spoke on, and helped pass @youngliberalsuk.bsky.social & @liberalreform.bsky.social motion challenging the implementation of the OSA, and I will come to push the party on overhauling legislation to truly protect digital rightsβ¦
Late #LDConf follow up but very pleased to have spoke on the importance of the space sector as a key growth area that shows the immediate applications of emerging and novel technologies and ensuring the operational independence of the @ukspaceagency.bsky.social following Labourβs plansβ¦
