Some people will know this already but happy to announce I’ve been successfully nominated as the Lib Dem candidate in Norcot, the ward I’ve been proud to call home for nearly two years in Reading. Already hard at work campaigning to show Labour the door! #rdguk #LE26

A Reform UK graphic announcing the defection of Cllr. Clarence Mitchell, from the Conservatives.

A Reform UK graphic announcing the defection of Cllr. Clarence Mitchell, from the Conservatives.

We see that Reform UK continues to be a retirement home for failed Conservatives, as erstwhile RBC Tory leader Clarence Mitchell defects to them.

A shameful, if predictable, move for the former press spokesperson for Cambridge Analytica. We wonder how long his Ukraine lapel pin will last?

Keir Starmer should condemn Trump’s illegal action in Venezuela.

Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe.

Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.

Also the Romans literally had a welfare system that included cash transfers for poor children. (And subsidised grain for low income workers...).

Pleased to welcome Mackenzie and Johan onto policy committee for the upcoming year, alongside @cormacevans.bsky.social and Tim being reelected, all people with great ideas, and I look forward to seeing who our Scottish and Welsh reps will be. Polcom will get the ball rolling soon!

I extend commiserations to @abrialjerram.bsky.social for a well fought campaign and great manifesto - he’s someone the wider party should value for his policy ideas and ensuring we are credible as we push to be a party capable of Government once more. I’d love to see both of us on FPC!

The Council of Europe has warned that the UK gov’s treatment of trans people may breach human rights law.

This must be a wake up call.

We’ve seen an increase in hostility towards trans in recent years.

Everyone deserves dignity, safety, & respect - that includes trans people.

Menzies Campbell, 1941-2025, in white on a black background, with Ming's sombre Parliamentary portrait picture in the centre, and the party logo in white at the bottom.

Ming Campbell was one of the most influential Lib Dems of the last few decades - his opposition to the Iraq War inspired a whole generation of Lib Dems to join, and his allyship on LGBT+ matters was always both strong, and appreciated.

He was also remarkably kind. We will miss him.
