i dont believe in a devil, or demons, or djinn for that matter, but i find the personification and symbol and belief very interesting. i understand the wish to externalize, its not healthy or productive. folk devils run alot of cover for very human evils. #folkart #facejug #devil #society #pottery

Alot of ways to do it! Its fine to put all sorts of chunk at the top, wont really effect the sound as most of the resonance is happening lower on the bell

And thats not a hard and fast rule either, have seen some with crazed glazes that ring clear.. but found it to be the case in mine. Probably wise, oxide washes look great too.. i have a feeling if you make one, tou will make more... bells are habit forming haha

Oh great! So excited to see what you do! Far as tips, guess i would just recommend making a sturdy join on the hanging ring, and for hanging the clapper i make a socket that i can glue a steel eye screw into. I dont glaze them, but if you do, use a glaze that doesnt craze as it will deaden the sound

Whew, good question! I dont really do commissions, it just doesnt work with my process. Price really depends on the piece, size, level of detail... all that. I actually dont price my work, let my partner do that because i dont have a grasp on the concept of finance haha
