And today we’ll be following this important flight, the 3rd flight of Blue Origin’s New Glenn, hopefully the 2nd successful landing and 1st booster reuse. Launch targeted at 12:45 CEST / 13.45 EEST.
SpaceX needs competition!

Mitä #Artemis2 -lennon upeista valokuvista voi sanoa? Aika paljonkin, kuten Jarmo Korteniemi ja Teemu Öhman osoittavat tällä videolla. Jututtajana Jari Mäkinen.
I hope you enjoyed @dutchspace.bsky.social’s fabulous #Artemis2 timeline app. It seems he’s doing the same now with #Ariane6. Dank u!
power point slide showing the camera locations on the orion spacecraft. For Artemis II, the vehicle-mounted OIS comprises: • 4 Solar Array Wing (SAW) cameras • 3 in-cabin wireless cameras • 3 external wired cameras • 2 human-health monitoring cameras • 2 camera controllers • 1 Fwd Bay high speed camera Other optical systems: • 4 wireless cameras for NatGeo payload (proprietary data) • 4 Portable computing devices (tablets) with webcams • 2 Nikon D5 DSLR camera bodies (+ lenses, batteries, etc.) • 2 ZCube video encoders (prime + spare) • 1 Docking Camera (DCAM) • 1 Optical Navigation (OPNAV) camera • 1 drag-on temp-mount camera to monitor crew ingress (KSC system)
Of course I only found this post-flight, but there is a good presentation of all the camera systems installed on the Artemis II Orion spacecraft. #Artemis

A bit of a different take on the amazing Artemis II launch footage.
Here I stitched clips from the four Solar Array Wing Cameras to make this panoramic video.
This is during the later part of the Core Stage burn until MECO and stage separation, sped up to 10x. ðŸ”🧪 #Artemis
Here is the list of NASA science missions that the Trump administration proposes to terminate.
Note that it includes many missions that are already in space, fully operational.
This is a wrecking operation against America.
Oui, spectaculaire, mais c’est Artemis 1 de 2022.
Good burn
ESA center in The Netherlands getting a shout out :)

About 70 minutes now until the Orion module separates from the European-built service module that's been pushing it around the Earth-Moon system for the last week. Good view of Australia's morning right now...
Map of the Pacific with ground-projected approach trajectory of Artemis II and key events indicated. Note that the apparent sharp turn is a perspective effect and not a true turn: further away from Earth, Earth rotation is determining the sub-spacecraft position, while nearer by, its's velocity relative to Earth surface takes over.
Just over 1.5 hours to go before the #Artemis II crew capsule splashes down in front of the California coast.
This is the ground-projected approach trajectory of the spacecraft (times in UTC):
View of half-illuminated Earth, blue surface and white clouds, from one of European Service Module's solar array cams, the service module is on the left in partial shadow.
✅ #Artemis II update: Day 10, Orion travelling at 15 884 km/h, 31 182 km from Earth and 359 527 km from the Moon. View now from one of European Service Module's solar array cams (pic: NASA). Safe travels, Integrity! Track at www.nasa.gov/missions/art...

Thanks for the shout-out Reid! Safe travels from your European friends at @esa.int and Airbus 💞
The world's first view of Earth taken by a spacecraft from the vicinity of the Moon. The photo was transmitted to Earth by the United States Lunar Orbiter I and received at the NASA tracking station at Robledo De Chavela near Madrid, Spain. This crescent of the Earth was photographed August 23, 1966 at 16:35 GMT when the spacecraft was on its 16th orbit and just about to pass behind the Moon. Credit: NASA.
Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks—formed when the surface rebounded upward during the impact that created the crater. Image Credit: NASA.

Breaking news: the most recent photo from Artemis2. I want to believe!
ISAR Aerospace's Spectrum rocket on the launch pad.
ISAR Aerospace is now targeting NET 9 April for the launch of Mission ‘Onward and Upward’ during the available launch window, which opens at 22:00 CEST (20:00 UTC).
The final date remains subject to weather, safety and range infrastructure.
Beautiful.
This is the best photo of the flyby up to now: the Orion spacecraft with 4 humans from the US and Canada, the moon, and our dear Earth, in a photo taken by the European service module camera.
The #Artemis II crew has just been given their upcoming distance of closest approach to the Moon as 4067 statute miles and they replied jokingly that they would prefer the number in kilometers and parsecs.
Astronauts... they're just like us [astronomers] ! 🥲

The Moon as seen by Artems II on 4 April 2026. Mare Orientale is seen side on as the feature narrow feature on the right limb of the Moon, just past the darker blob of crater Grimaldi.
OK this is cool. The first time humans have seen the whole Mare Orientale on the far side of the Moon with their own eyes. See flic.kr/p/2s5HA2X 🧪ðŸ”
The most beautiful words I have seen for a very long time: "GO for TLI".

Piti tehdä vain nopeasti lyhyt video Artemis II -lennosta, mutta tulikin pitkä video, jota tuli nysvättyä melkein kaksi päivää. Mutta tuloksena onkin aikamoinen paketti asiaa tästä historiallisesta kuulennosta – ensimmäiset ihmiset Kuun luona sitten vuoden 1972!

Can't believe they're now on the way to Moon - after all these delays. Fabulous!
Go Artemis II !
