Not yet. We used this guide from Quebec to set up our sprayer www.agrireseau.net/agroenvironn...
Post emerge spray day in our herbicide banding x cover crop experiment. We are banding herbicide over the rows and seeding cover crops in between. We have found that we can band spray soybean, grow a cover crop, and yield better than the provincial average all while reducing herbicide use by 73%!
Interested in growing buckwheat as a cover crop but don't want all those pesky volunteers next year? Try applying the critical period of cover crop management! #agriculture

All sorts of ways! That's part of our experiment. Mostly roller crimped with and without herbicide but we also undercut or mowed other treatments
The last of our spuds are in the ground! Time to try direct seeded potatoes into terminated cover crops. #potato
Newest article just published. This one took a few years to pull together, nice to finally see it out there. We used a new approach to model weed species distributions across wild blueberry fields. #plantscience #ecology www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Testing out our new sweep plough for cover crop termination. Seems there is a fine line between skimming the surface and burying it in the soil. This time it worked
The research of #GCAggie Dr. Andrew McKenzie-Gopsill on #PrinceEdwardIsland is helping farmers reduce weed germination by 60 to 95% by using the weed seed crusher during potato harvest: agriculture.canada.ca/en/science/s...

It's spud time! First two of eight trials hand planted today. Here we are testing methods of terminating legumes without glyphosate prior to potatoes and evaluating carryover effects and leaching potential
Smiting plants with the power of Zeus! First day out testing our new Weed Zapper yesterday. A few hiccups along the way but excited to see how things look today
It's taken a few extra days and flights to get here but finally in Maryland and ready to talk weeds with the NEWSS folks!
Why is this a good idea?
King of the Hill is the great American novel.
New toy arrived today. Too bad it's pouring rain again
Who should you nominate as reviewers for your manuscript? After a long chat with a post-grad it appears that there's a lot of misguided advice out there. Thread 👇
I think what this chart points out is Australia and Denmark are vastly different wheat yield potential environments rather than anything to do with herbicide use/ weed management
Is this herbicide use/sales only for wheat?
I think I remember what the sun looks like. It's rained every day for nearly two weeks and the forecast ahead isn't looking any different #PEI #AtlCdn
One last final day of sampling for the season. Hard to believe we are still out collecting biomass in November
Buckwheat is a fast growing cover crop that is often added to mixtures to provide weed suppression. In our recent OA manuscript we show that weed suppression is tied to buckwheat's rapid canopy establishment and which is compromised in cover crop mixtures. #plantscience #sustainable #agriculture
Seeding cover crops after potato harvest has been gaining traction over the past few years in Atlantic Canada. Yesterday I was out checking on our test plots evaluating different species sown post-harvest to see which provides the best soil cover overwinter. #sustainable #agriculture #plantscience
Want to learn more about integrating cover crops into soybean production and reducing herbicide use? Here is a video we recorded with the Atlantic Grains Council on some of our recent research from this past field season #sustainable #agriculture #plantscience #Atlantic
First day back after a week away in the wilderness and got to talk about our work on harvest #weed #seed control and #abrasive weed management in #potato to the #AAFC deputy minister
Hello all! New here and just thought I would introduce myself and the lab. I run the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Charlottetown Weeds Lab. We study the biology and ecology of weeds in Atlantic Canadian agroecosystems. #plantscience #agriculture #weeds
