Usually have a hard time with audiobooks, but Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman has really been hitting. Pairing particularly well with reading stories from Hellions by Julia Elliott too.

Glad to see Hellions on here and just bought A Guardian and a Thief!

Text from The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer.
Circled text:

Or at least, they weren't hiring anybody like me.
I couldn't blame them. I was never built for customer service. Despite all my best efforts to appear happy, likable, and highly employable, people always thought I was mad about something. It felt like I had a big sticker permanently plastered to my forehead, Sharpied scrawl reading: "Fuck off."

This book might get me, or at least is the Universe talking to me tonight.

I cleared out the bottom of my closet and I have an old shelving unit downstairs that I’m going to stick in there. Optimizing space.

‘I got everything I dreamed of – when I had no ability to handle it’: Lena Dunham on toxic fame, broken friendships and her ‘lost decade’ Stardom came fast and hard for the wunderkind who created the hit HBO series Girls aged just 23. Now she’s written a tell-all memoir about why she was forced to retreat from the spotlight

This is a really interesting profile of Lena Dunham and her new memoir Famesick: www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...

I’m coming at Lena Dunham’s memoir from someone who has never seen any of her stuff but is very interested in what she says/how she copes with chronic illness.

I read Goose of Hermogenes years ago and have been meaning to get The Living Stones. Helen Humphreys praised Becalming so I thought I’d pick it up.

Oh it turns out that vanquishing the college student who uses they/them in their email signature is not bringing you the fulfillment that you hoped for? You are still working in your crappy and unfulfilling job, paying a mortgage you now can't afford, and dealing with your annoying kids... I see.

Honestly I think this whole approach to tying students’ grades to their attendance is the wrong one. I had the same problem in high school before I switched to alternative school. There need to be greater accessibility measures.
