🌿 It’s National Poetry Month…
Poetry isn’t always meant to be understood—
it’s meant to be felt.
Read something slowly. Let it land. 💜

Floating in a Boundary Waters
nameless lake, Loon
surfaces at arm’s length.
A red eye, a blue eye
locked in curiosity,
adrift together in Minnesota quiet
until Loon disappears into
depths I wait to discover –
and I pretend salvation
exists only in the heavens.

Insomniac by Maya Angelou
There are some nights when
sleep plays coy,
aloof and disdainful.
And all the wiles
that I employ to win
its service to my side
are useless as wounded pride,
and much more painful.
