The radar over the Northland at 8 p.m. on March 23, 2026, shows a cluster of mostly snow showers moving over the northern half of the region, with some rain drops also mixing in. Possible showers south of Highway 2 are being detected, but they are likely not reaching the surface due to the air being too dry in the lower atmosphere. The precipitation is moving from west to east.

A Snow Squall Warning has been issued until 8:45 p.m. for the northern portions of St. Louis, Lake, and Cook counties. Snowfall is falling at a heavy enough rate that road conditions in the Ely and surrounding areas are deteriorating due to visibility.
