When you learned about the Iran hostage crisis, did they teach you this part?
In November 1979, during the crisis, Black hostages and women were released first.
Ruhollah Khomeini said they were oppressed in the United States and not part of the power structure, so they weren’t seen as spies.

Pennsylvania's appellate court confirmed that access to abortion is a fundamental right under the Pennsylvania Constitution.
This decision is a win for all Pennsylvanians.
The government shouldn't be making your healthcare decisions - you should.

French polymath Clémence Royer was born 196 years ago today. Now she is most known for her 1862 translation of On the Origin of Species which pushed Darwin's ideas into the realm of human evolution, but in her day she was celebrated for her encyclopedic knowledge.

I hope the takeover of InfoWars by @theonion.com and @timheidecker.bsky.social that resulted from the bankruptcy brought on by Alex Jones’ evil attacks on the victims of Sandy Hook brings you as much joy as it does me.

Sen. Jack Reed to Warsh as he dodges questions about divesting his assets: "Excuse me. I must commend you on the way you can circularly go around questions and not answer them. It's a skill. Unfortunately it's not a good skill for the chairman of the Fed."
Send his flaccid micropenis to the golf course. It’s cheaper on us taxpayers at this point
Oh and the Orville did what neither Star Trek nor Doctor Who has done and actually say "No, genocide is not the answer and even the strawman implacable horde of programmed killbots can be reasoned with."

JUST IN: 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran says no Iranian delegation arrived in Pakistan for negotiations with US, despite "baseless" media reports.
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
Here's one for you. We are car watching for a friend, she had her Maserati shipped to us and it sits in our driveway. all well and good but now we have to go out for a drive in it to make sure it's still running. all we have is a Xerox of the title to show the policeman when he pulls us over😱

From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.

"We must become less reliant on American tools and regain control of our digital destiny. We can no longer accept that our data, our infrastructure, our strategic decisions depend on solutions whose rules, pricing, evolution, and risks we do not control."
Why are men so scared of having women in control?
They could kickback and watch sports while women fixed shit.
We need computer classes back. We need to teach people how to troubleshoot and how to type and how folders work. I am frequently shocked at how little people know about computers these days.
This has "Back in my day" energy, but like... it's a necessary skill that we seem to have lost.
Had to turn off Meet the Press. Instead I’ll be watching the livestream of the Big Bear eagles’ nest. Little buggers are already starting to grow! #Nature
