A packed house for Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody discussing his book The Forest To the Path. A book about grief and his father’s death, it detours through loneliness & creativity; unsaid questions and conversations. Made me think of: “Give people their flowers now’, instead of waiting for eulogies.

The Velveteen Rabbit opens today. Woke up feeling like it was Christmas morning. I know it’s probably not always like this but writing for theatre has been one of the least stressful, most fun experiences I’ve ever had as a writer. So excited to see everyone on stage tonight.

This looks interesting - a name from my school days, Martín Ó Direáin. I learned about him as a poet but Spring Seaweed includes his essays. Translated by Micheál Ó hAodh, who seems to be at the heart of many efforts to ignite interest in Irish language authors.
