Here is what’s left of a gif that didn’t work out for my last blog post. So much time for so little work lol #illustration #animation #space

A doodle of the Artemis II crew
Black and white line drawing of the moon rise image from Artemis II. Tiny picnicking robots have been added.
Black and white illustration of our solar system. Underneath each planet is its name and time it takes to orbit the sun.
Black and white drawing of all the planets fitting between the earth and the moon.
I just posted a new blog post!
This one is all about space and using what you love as inspiration. Plus, I needed an excuse to make some space doodles. This Artemis crew brought too much moon joy to ignore.
Check it out! Link in my bio!
Thank you!! 😊
Working on some character designs for a book dummy I’ve been working on. I’m really loving this pencil texture… maybe I should color everything this way. #kidlitart #illustration #picturebooks
I still use it to start a conversation too 🤷♀️
The fact that I have to live in a time where using your brain is frowned upon is so freaking exhausting.
I am trying to pick a set with a good color theme and I seem to be all over the place 😆
I know they aren't accepting submissions from artists but I was wondering if it was worth the work to dig around for the art director and cold email.
Illustrators who have worked with highlights, I'm curious, how are you getting work from them? Some of you have agents, some don't. A lot of it seems to be repeat work from people who have been doing these types of gigs forever. Is it possible to be new and sneak in here and there?
This is adorable. Great work! Makes me wonder what I'd do for one...
I’ve had terrible heart palpitations lately and it’s got me really down. I’m blaming my POTS since that seems to be the cause of everything but my god.
🤗 oh that’s sweet 😊
My 4 year old daughter draws chickens better than I do.
Way back I used to draw a lot more dinosaurs. Thinking about this little steggy today and wanting to draw some more of them. 🥰

Thank you!! The “stuff” is what I avoid most so that means a lot 😊
Trying to lean into the stuff I enjoy. Really loving this quick sketch.

An image of a boy in a red hoodie hugging a yellow dog looking very content.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you get to spend it with whoever you love :)

I love the color!! It still feels cold but it's not the typical winter blue. 👏
This is adorable. I really love the texture.
Christmas Baking. Another piece I finished for my portfolio at the beginning of the year! #kidlitart #illustration #childrensbooks
“Let you alone! That’s all very well, but how can I leave myself alone? We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?”

Large blue text reads, “Why do so many book people keep forgetting to credit illustrators?” Beside the text, a roundish blue winged horse contains the text “#Pictures Mean Business.” At the bottom is the credit: “Illustration: Sarah McIntyre along with a website link.
To publishers, authors, & others posting about illustrated books, including covers that have illustration: Please credit the ILLUSTRATOR.
This not only helps boost the illustrator, but also shows that you value HUMAN illustrators.

“His rage passes description—the sort of rage that is only seen when rich folk that have more than they can enjoy suddenly lose something they have long had but have never used or wanted. “

This feels relevant right now.
It’s good to know that I’m not alone. At the conference this weekend I felt like an outsider because I didn’t know how to break in with all the people I didn’t know 😂 Practice I guess
Essentially that. When I meet people in person I find it insanely hard to justify going up and just saying hello. I feel like I need a good reason and talk myself out of it. It’s HARD.
