A few years ago, I bought a house with the aim of making it my home. I succeeded. But I also became part of a serious national problem, and shame.

The Next Generation Indigenous Art Show runs until April 30 at the Clayoquot Campus, a newly reopened space in Tofino.
"France will double state support to 10 billion euros ($12 billion) a year through to 2030 to help its switch to electricity from oil and gas and their derivative fuels [...] Measures including boosting the use of electric vehicles and modernising home heating..."
Imagine trusting science to bring astronauts to the moon and back but not trusting science to develop safe vaccines.
Courage and grace that few will ever know.
Well worth a few minutes of your time to read.
That is not a good example of bike accessory design.
Hopefully a ride along Dallas Road with the Clover Point loop capped by Beacon Hill Drive-In ice cream helps with recovery.
This is a dangerous road to go down.
All this does is encourage extractive industry, settler land developers, & venture capitalists to make more noise and throw more tantrums in order to slow or halt Reconcilation in BC.
The sad part is, this probably won’t win more support for the NDP long term.
April fools?
/crosses fingers it is not
What fucking BULLSHIT
PERFORMATIVE ASSHOLES
I feel like the surrender of the global electric vehicle market to China is one of those things that will, with a couple of decades of hindsight, be vastly consequential. Scaling benefits, technology development, supply chains... A lot of incumbents that depend on export markets will be screwed.
Went and saw #ProjectHailMary with the family this weekend.
Excellent!
Can’t recommend it enough.
Smart people, solving problems, overcoming fear and self doubt.
Hardcore science nerds, don’t get bent out of shape, it’s just a movie ;)

This problem will not solve itself.
Caring for family members is physically & emotionally exhausting. And for many, financially crippling.
Hard truth… we need to raise taxes to build LTC infrastructure & resources.
Is the @davidebybc.bsky.social government brave enough to advocate for this?
@thejuicemedia.com's Honest Government Ad wasn't kidding❗Canadian PM Mark Carney (aka Banker Daddy) skips #COP30 to announce fast-track of American-owned Ksi Lisims LNG project
Governments across the country, of all stripes, are coming for your right to know what they're doing.
Think heat pumps can’t handle Canadian winters? ❄️🍁
In Europe’s coldest countries, they’re already the norm — and they’re 2-3x more efficient than gas boilers, even well below zero.
Retrofits make homes warmer, cheaper to heat, and ready for the future.

if we’re fomenting rage against First Nations because people are being given two years notice to vacate their expiring leaseholds on reserve land then we’ve kind of lost the plot
Never forget the root of these days 🪶
A white background meme with black text. The top line reads: “White people: You can’t blame me for what my ancestors did!” Below it reads: “Also white people: Their parents brought them here illegally, so those children deserve to be locked up!”
Hypocrisy runs deep 🙄
When it’s about history, suddenly no one is responsible for what their ancestors did.
But when it’s about migrant kids, responsibility becomes hereditary.
Anonymous ITG, talking tough behind an alt, threatened by a woman brave enough to report bad behaviour in public.
So when we see people like Rachel Gilmore stalked by people emboldened to wear Nazi symbols in public, understand where the Nazis’ sense of safety comes from:
Gutless governments who refuse to do a bare minimum to make it unsafe to be a fascist in public.
PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS: “We’ve let the lies be far too successful, and that’s significantly hurt our cities. No more.”
It’s our blunt NEW @usa.streetsblog.org op-ed sharing why we’ve created @urbantruth.bsky.social. SPOILER: We need to call out the lies and tell the truth much more persuasively!

Max Fawcett and I discuss his column, "Canada's big bet on EVs can still pay off."
We may or may not have discussed EVs' impact on the future of Alberta oil.

Credit where it is due... the @nytimes.com does this one right.
Unfortunately, it was (and is) their sanewashing of Trump, and long before him, their rampant bothsideism of climate & science denialists that helped lead to this state.
There's no shame in the NYT editorial room either it appears.
If you spend time in the bad place, you’re hearing this claim a lot:
Alberta sends $23B more to Ottawa than it gets back. If we separated, we’d erase the $9B deficit and have a $14B surplus.
It sounds simple. It’s wrong. Here's why. 🧵
Oak Bay gets a lot of flak but Saanich should be building at least 5 times the number of homes that it does
Hard not to see this as deliberate political disinformation central to a key wedge issue targeted at a large voting block with potential language limitations early in a municipal election season.
In other words, lying on purpose so you can win.

Radiohead is demanding that the Trump administration take down a pro-ICE promotional video featuring a version of its song “Let Down” without permission.

Not to mention the suggestion from those "reasonable" conservatives that rights violations are fine, but sweeping rights violations are bad when their objectives are not made explicit.
