beyond asking people that have tattoos you like where they got it and if it was a good experience. Too many tattooers make good tattoos but are horrible to their customers, and that's info that needs to get out.
I don't begrudge anyone making money for their labor but I always question people that try to make money off tattooing if they are not tattooers. I tattooed for over 25 yrs and got so sick of interlopers trying to cash in that it's a knee jerk reaction. Does seem folks want a guide though,
My gut reaction is why would anyone pay for this, but from reading the responses I guess there's a need. I'm suspicious of folks that aren't tattooers trying to make money off it even if it's a few bucks. A few dollars isn't much to pay for knowledge, but what's the information you're selling?
