Translation is not about copying a poem into another language.
It’s about deciding what survives when language changes and moves into this third-space beyond explanation and interpretation.
Just confused a bob ross video with The Clue movie
lmao courts are pushing to fine those stupid fucking LLM companies that stole millions of books to train their AI. They would owe between $200B and $1.8T in theft and copyright infringement fines. Lmao lmao lmao
Oh I love this reading list! Have you read Patrycja Humienik’s We Contain Landscapes? Polish-American but a fantastic collection on Polish heritage in my opinion!
This is great - Wadud is such an inventive and inspiring poet and I think you’ve done her quite well.
Can’t wait to talk more about Silvonek’s poetry!!
Writing about recent books is so challenging. I feel haven't lived with the book long enough to write about it.
I envy anyone who feels like they can give a confident opinion of a literature in short periods of time.
positive update in who knows how long: Open Books has met the match and the donation has been made to the Sameer Project's North Gaza initiative. Open Books has raised $26,000 for this so far w/matching campaigns and book sale proceeds.

You and your words build community, and community will support you.
This is what I learn with every moment of engaging with writers and artists, poets and essayists. Our people are scaffolding for each other. And we are all constructing something marvelous, something beautiful.
🎲🤩🥹 to you too!
Reading poetry is a way of grasping life, nurturing every bit of good, connecting up severed bits of ourselves.
I like to think if you hold out your hand long enough, a bird might simply perch there.
Sometimes the act of creation is a kind of divine insistence on remembering.
The fact that writing cultivates more writing for me excites me. A neverending process toward purpose and fulfillment is a neverending effort toward happiness.

Very happy that my short story collection CREATURE, published in English by @dorothyproject.bsky.social, has been translated into Spanish by Daniela Betancur and will be out this month with Fiordo Editorial in Argentina. www.fiordoeditorial.com.ar/product-page...
This week on my substack you can find writing on Kate Zambreno and Jacques Derrida, wrongness and greed, rudeness and screencaptures, and, you know, these beautiful things, all of them.
Right? Ugh
This is absolutely ridiculous, NFTs use vastly more energy and water than crypto.
Unnecessary and pitiable to the authors and artists whose work is being entrusted.
You are a cutie patootie!!!
