I might actually need this as a prop as one of my students has chosen the nickname Oswald...

Great timing, just putting as many of these into NotebookLM as possible to get a gauge of the most occurring topics. Wonder if it will produce a Predicted Predicted Paper for me

Played with Ollie Pearce from primary all the way through school. Took a real leap of faith to commit to full time football. So happy its working out for him

Matcha is like wearing shorts in winter. You're only doing it not because you want to do it but because you want to be seen doing it

Also worked in about 10 schools now and those with the best results did the least amount of intervention things

Just want to put this out there to see

The more revision sessions a school puts on the less students revise.

Feel like students need the responsibility of doing it for themselves

There are courses out there (maths in context etc) but no college is willing to take them on. Given the compulsory nature of further education these courses could be filled with enough advertisement that they exist

I think we assume too much that if a kid sits the foundation tier that they aren't interested in maths. I've got kids asking me about cosine rule etc but it just isnt accessible for them. These students need an A Level maths equivalent which is accessible to them for their like enjoyment

Another kid said to a peer today "2006 was years ago in 2006 my mum was..." and I cut him off because I did not want to hear the end of that sentence

Played Heardle with my tutor group today and one of them asked "what's a Madonna?"

Listened to this on my commute last couple days, love the way you advocate for the Maths gcse as it is. Maths opens up a new pathway of thinking which gives more exploration too. The way you debated (i mean you didn't) was spot on

I went away and worked out the volume of the smaller bed and how many bags we'd need myself. I got 13.6 bags.
So total number of bags for each bed
Large one: 21
Small one.....(drum roll 🥁🥁) 13!

Take that AI (and partly take that my fiancé 🤫) #mathstoday

Bit miffed my partner asked chat gpt to work how much compost we'd need to buy to fill these
Anyway it told her we needed 18 bags to fill both beds. Turns out it didn't even fill the bigger bed alone!

Anybody else being offered about 5 jobs a day teaching in the middle East or is it just me? Sadly none have included a Kevlar Vest and Helmet in their employee benefits

Gets better, in the last week before I left he announced he has taken a job closer to home because he was spending too much time commuting

During the last fuel crisis I told my then headteacher I could not afford to work at the school as it was, he replied "the length of a commute is no excuse for leaving a job" they then offered to cover my petrol costs when I was invited to interview elsewhere

Actually 2 gets upgraded from "utter garbage" to "garbage" because of the introduction of Mace Windus purple lightsaber

1 = rose tinted spectacles
2 = utter garbage (remember being miffed at the time because the baddie didnt even die)
3 = vaguely acceptable because the PlayStation 2 game was banging

I think it's pretty generational. Like I look at the prequels with rose tinted spectacles being I was 6 when Phantom Menace came out. But even so I can recognise that Attack of the Clones is a heap of turd

Leave it as it is, im thinking "oh but what about an angle in a semi circle" which then led into a cyclic quadrilateral. This really works, it's got the right amount of "stuff" anymore and my students would baulk

Given the amount of work these guys put in i wouldn't be surprised if they also mastered time travel to make this possible

If I was a leader and asked what are you doing to help year 11, if the response was "making sure their lessons are as good and as effective as can possibly be" that would be a massive tick for me

I'm feeling more this year than even that I can go to the loo before I leave for work and then not go until I'm home again. It's also taking too long for powers that be to realise that the best way to have effective outcomes is to give teachers time to plan effective lessons

#mathstoday thought I'd get away from this in 2 weeks but I'm maths today I taught my wife about metric weight conversion after I moved 3 tonnes of stone in 2 days by myself (50 bags per tonne) at one point she said "at least the stuff going on top will be lighter because the stones are smaller" 😂

I also had like a role reversal with The Housemaid. I loved that book when I read it a couple years ago and thought the film was really well adapted

Refused to watch Project Hail Mary until I read the book but now that I have I feel like the ending really spoils it and am now to scared to see the film
