For the lighthouse case where weโre using waLBerla, weโre simulating coupled micro erosion fluid flow and particle flow. In CEEC, we're therefore improving the performance of this coupled fluid โ particle flow simulation.

waLBerla uses the lattice Boltzmann method to simulate flow, unlike all the other CEEC codes that solve the Navier-Stokes equations.

Erosion and micro erosion can cause suction pylon installation to fail, though. So, weโre building a simulation of this erosion to understand how to make suction installation more successful.

Off-shore wind energy has great potential but also environmental impacts. One solution is suction mounting the turbine pylons, which is much quieter.

That said, it could be better at building meshes for complex geometries. That's one of the things we're working on improving to enable the two lighthouse cases where we're using #Neko - yesterday's static mixers as well as day 12 of this song parody being published next Friday.

#Neko is incredibly fast and paralel as well as easy to use across hardware architectures, with it's abstraction layer that takes care of choosing the correct kernal for the system.
