Seeing as there are lots of introductions on here: my PhD research is looking at the material culture of Roman children, focussing on the site of Dura-Europos. Here are a couple of examples from the corpus of articulated bone dolls. I’m also looking at infant feeding bottles & terracotta toys.
Teaching in a new place this week and might adopt this as my power animal to get me through...

A parody of a Tory from Private Eye: So I'm warming to Robert Jenrick. He has the vision and the haircut that could take us into 2025! He also makes a very good point about being proud of our Englishness. I myself am very proud about everything that is English - well, everything except the BBC (obviously!), the RNLI (helps immigrants), the National Trust (teaches us the wrong history), the RHS (same), the Proms (too European), the North (too depressing), London (full of You Know Whats), people who work from home (buy those Costa Coffees! young people (annoying), old people (a drain on the public purse), schools (too scary), theatres (too scary and leftie), universities (hotbeds of wokery), the courts (always complaining about lack of money), the army (ditto), the police (ditto) doctors and nurses (ditto ditto) and Peppa Pig
