On a personal note, the Bio Station has been hugely important to my own life and career. I've been both a student and professor there! The photos are from my 2023 Stream Ecology course.

Please give if you can, and share this message!

Trump threats cause dilemma for US officers: disobey orders or commit war crimes Legal experts say attacking Iran’s infrastructure would constitute a war crime – but would military officers be held responsible?

Scary article and scary quote:
"Trump had previously shown respect for the devastating consequences of nuclear use, but [the nuclear weapons expert] added: 'I don’t know how strong that respect is when he is losing the war and his mind at the same time.'"

NSF LTER program “archived”.

LTER=“Long Term Ecological Research”.

This program has been incredibly successful, incredibly frugal for what they accomplish, and…of course…targeted by evil know-nothings.

My heart is breaking.

Killing the Sponge The Silent End Of Our Wetlands

#Wetlands were the OG way to store/filter #water, while also sustaining #biodiversity & huge #ecosystems.

But, like many great things, we killed it.
