Which body is responsible for which roads?
And where does the money come from?
Mostly council tax.
This is a really good piece of reporting from @oxfordclarion.bsky.social bringing together national and local to Oxfordshire issues and focussing on fact & education, not outrage-baiting
One of our 2-year Ospreys that fledged from our @careyssecretgarden.bsky.social nest back in 2024 just visited his natal nest much to the annoyance of his parents! @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
I hope this is broadly right. Always been nervous about London since it reelected an obviously unsuitable candidate in the 2000's, leading to disaster for the rest of the country.
Exactly, and an idea of which countries are joining Canada. It might be a great idea from Carney but the article doesn't seem interested in analysis.
A way for UK people to regain our EU passports, removed against our will?🙂

Nigel Farage being healed by Putin while Tice and Anderson look on.
Outrageous! Looks nothing like Richard or Lee.
I appreciate a lot of people can't afford the upfront costs, so I did a bit of looking into options with zero upfront cost, in case helpful for anyone. Expect the Govt will announce more details on 0% loans for solar soon too

Got our solar panels installed this AM. They came at 8:30am and we're gone by 1:30pm. 13 panels and 10kwh battery.
We can't export to the grid yet (the network operator has been flooded with new requests) but we charged our car with the sun this afternoon. Great feeling, strongly recommend.
Bet Iran is really shaking in their boots when Witkoff & Kushner walk up to the table in their Tom Ford sunglasses & Gucci loafers. A fresh botox on the boy wonder as if to say ‘this time I mean business..’ Stevie rocking the Patek Philippe projecting ‘don’t fuck with me’ vibes.
Interesting that Germany isn't participating though.
ONS says the surprise fall in the unemployment rate reflects rising inactivity - particularly people becoming students - rather than rising employment.

Presumably the carrion lying on the ground. 🙂 Great picture but important to emphasise that these amazing birds overwhelmingly eat dead stuff and are not predators.
A gannet flying through pink tinted skies. The bird's crisp white plumage and black wingtips are visible while the sky is pink and orange with the setting sun.

Surprise jump in GDP: up 0.5% in February (and also 0.5% for the three months to February).
Looks like UK on course for yet another strong Q1. That's likely to raise suspicions among some economists who had questioned if process of seasonal adjustment is working right.

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.
Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars
The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.
Why aren't we doing this?
Also, German politics is a bit more complicated than that.

I sounded the alarm about Donald Trump’s sons backing drone company, Powerus.
Now, Powerus wants to sell drones to countries under attack by Iran.
Are Trump’s sons cashing in on the war their father started?
