Highly recommended.

If you have time for 1 (long) video, look up "Who Killed Cinema", it's great.

Actually, here you go:

Tng and ds9 had a proper ending, voy somewhat managed to have one too, but what I mean I guess is that these 3 series ran for long enough to explore all their characters (mostly) and all the themes they wanted, and more, while every other series got cut short of what the creators had in mind 🥲

It's crazy that 8 out of 12 Star Trek series have been canceled.

Vasito y papel siempre.

Las únicas arañas a las que hay que tener miedo son las que no se ven nunca, la de rincón (sale de noche, es rápida y escurridiza) y la del trigo... que solo hay en los trigales.

Lura Thok, bath'let training exercises in the morning on the holodeck with the safeties off, obviously.

I think what it has always needed was to end each show properly, and then move to the next one, like they did in the TNG/DS9/VOY era, I'm sure people would rave about ENT if it got its 7 seasons (I still do with its 4 season run), I'm sure Disco could have been concluded properly by now, Lower decks could be on it's final season, or a movie, maybe Prodigy would be cooking (even more so) on season 4 and 5, we could be looking for new trek for the next few years, each one different and unique, a good 5-6 season run of Academy, SNW getting 6 or 7 instead of 4 and a half, maybe a Year One movie could have been a great precedent to go back to post VOY.

At the end is just the damn streaming model and short term profits mentality, Trek makes money on the long run (all the old series still do numbers!), why kneecap your own long term numbers by canceling everything, it's so short-sighted and it just erodes a lot of good faith in your platform, see: Netflix (why watch this new show if it's just get canceled).

Tooting my own horn (r/startrek).

Short version:

- Streaming model and short term profits mentality bad.

- Proper endings for shows good.

- Canceling everything bad, it eats away at the numbers for the next shows (Netflix cancelation syndrome).

Still mad about ENT, DSC, LD, PRO, SFA and SNW.

Paramount+ are sending out emails with viewer surveys. It's important that as Star Trek fans we show our support for the franchise. I urge everyone to fill it out and specify Star Trek wherever you get the option, including this one.

I think it's silver lining? 🤔

Silver line is that there are 2 and a half seasons of Star Trek to look forward to.

That's the best "Uh-huh" delivery in all Star Trek.

Sadly, they make good money from that and don't have to really justify anything they say.

The most annoying phrase is "it has bad writing", it's thrown around but they never elaborate, mainly because they have no idea what that means.

Ugh.

Sure they do, how are they gonna kiss when the camera is looking away.

Artwork for the 229th episode of TrekRanks featuring the "Top 5 Starfleet Academy Season 1 Moments." Images include the TrekRanks logo in the upper left corner and an image of the Athena in the upper right corner.

Across the middle from left to right are images from "Vitus Reflux" feature Genesis Lythe playing Calica (left), the cadets in casual training gear looking, well, casual (center), and Darem Reymi playing Califca (right).

Along the bottom are four standout characters from left to right: Tarima Sadal, Nus Braka, Jett Reno and Jay-Den Kraag.

As always, to keep you guessing, remember that the episodes reflected in photos here include some choices that were featured in this episode of TrekRanks, some choices that were maybe mentioned in our "Secondary Systems" section of the show, and some choices that weren't mentioned at all.

ICYMI: Starfleet Academy was actually pretty popular & definitely unifying w/ people who actually like #StarTrek. All the other chatter is bullshit. (Timing is what canceled this show. Pure & simple.) Anyway, here's the best S1 celebration you'll find anywhere!

A young Lura on her War College cadet days, maybe captain of the Bat'leth team?
