Thank you for every vote! I am really happy that Sappho Digital turned out to be the first runner-up in the category »DH Dataset or Model« of the Digital Humanities Awards 2025! I’d like to use this moment to introduce the project a bit more – so here’s a short thread 🧵

I NEED HELP!
Please take this quick, meaningless 19 question survey so I can get data for my students to learn stats!
I did a similar version a few months ago but missed an important question type. Even if you did the old one, please do it again!
Please circulate widely!
Reminder of this cfp to join us in South Korea for a day of digital and computational comparative literature 👇🇰🇷
Will you be able to join the event online for part of it? We would love to have you join our research community!

All good points. At @jcls, we're exploring the Markdown route. Not more difficult to write than LaTeX, which is what we currently expect.
But just as easy (and even a bit lighter, resource-wise) to produce PDF (using Typst) and HTML and even some kind […]
Sure! I met @gimenadelr.bsky.social last year at DH25 in Lisbon. Such great work! However, she is in Argentina 🇦🇷, not in Chile 🇨🇱
Love that @guhrs.bsky.social is networking down in Chile and then introducing us to this awesome DH lab in San Sebastián.

I’m already planning to go back in January — to experience the Chilean summer and take part in Universidad San Sebastián’s next Semana de Innovación.

Muchas gracias por la invitación y la cálida bienvenida — ¡hasta pronto! ☀️ 🌎
If you want to learn more about #DH in Chile and South America more broadly, Leonor has recently edited a volume that brings together DH projects across the continent:
Riesco T., L. 2025. Humanidades digitales. Miradas, experiencias y proyecciones desde América Latina. Ediciones USS.
The Chilean DH landscape is rich, diverse, and ready for the future. The lab, founded only in 2023, is based in an impressive, well-equipped space and set up for collaboration and growth. There is strong interest in connecting with the international community.

On Tuesday, I visited the lab and learned about their ongoing projects in digital history, medieval studies, and literary studies: from mapping the travels of Spanish kings, to applying NLP methods to "La Araucana", to analyzing 19th-century travelogues, etc.

Over spring break, I went to visit a friend in Santiago — and got curious about the #DH community in Chile.
I searched through the @adho-org.bsky.social book of abstracts and asked around in my network if anyone knew what was going on there.

Such amazing colleagues!!! 🥳
Many thanks to the @berkeleyischool.bsky.social for this great opportunity! ☀️
It was a truly rewarding week in Vienna! Many thanks to the organizers and the #DH community for the inspiring exchanges and insights into ongoing research. As always, we are already looking forward to next year’s DHd! (4/4)
At the poster session, Mari and Steffi presented the editorial workflow of the fortext journal, from Call for Papers to publication. 📝 Great conversations with participants sparked new ideas for future editions and underlined the ongoing importance of a focus on DH teaching. (3/4)
This week, part of our team attended #DHd2026 in sunny Vienna — it was a joy to meet the community, exchange ideas, and present some of our current work 👇 (1/4)
In the session “Epistemology & Interpretation,” @evelyngius.bsky.social made the case for measurement in DH, showing what analysis processes can learn from measurement theory, bridging everything from temperature to hermeneutic interpretation. A manifesto in the making. ✨ (2/4)
