"Yes…?" he answers, because somehow, Hyunjin can't believe he'd be asking him beyond a platonic level. But Seungmin adds, "More than a friend?" Seungmin is smart. Hyunjin knows the silence that stretches on after the question is an answer in itself, so there's no point in lying about it. He doesn't want to lie, anyway. "Yes," he admits, then adds, "Sort of. I used to a lot. It's different now." It is different, but it's not less. He doesn't know how to say that like doesn't begin to cover it. He doesn't think it ever has. Seungmin just stares at him. "Wow," he says eventually. It stings a little, but Hyunjin knows Seungmin well enough to know he doesn't mean any harm by it. "I had no idea." Obviously, Hyunjin wants to say. "I figured," is what he says instead. OR: the gut-wrenching account of five years of loving kim seungmin (based on a true story)
