Outside of this, I'm adding to my "prep" list, working and focusing on the beautiful as much as possible. Hope you have a beautiful Sunday! 🌺🌺🌺

I'm working on cultures for my world Kelaris (finally) and once I'm done with that, I can do character details for my 1st story and finally GET STARTED
What have I been up to? I just finished reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray". There's a long passage where Wilde describes people Gray has ruined but doesn't explicitly say what happened and I'm extremely curious about what he was doing lol. But I insist that Lord Henry is the villain of the story
Heyyyooo Blueskies. Long time no see!!! I've been floating between the bad place and Threads mostly these days, but I'm still here!
💯💯💯
My only issue is that I felt it was a little too slow in some places (that could very well be due my shortened attention span) & I also felt that it could have used a glossary. Many of the terms for the animals were clear, but a few left me guessing. Excellent story overall, though. (3/3)
One genius thing Jones does is drop morsel upon morsel of horror right up until the very end of the story. Every time I felt like I could relax a little bit, there was another disturbing puzzle piece plopped right onto my lap. (2/3)
Side profile of a buffalo with light eyes, behind the title of the book, "The Buffalo Hunter Hunter" by Stephen Graham Jones
I just finished The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and I give it a SOLID 4.5/5 stars. Soooo very original, while weaving itself around true historical events. An epistolary horror that slowly squeezes you like a vice until you think you're going to burst. Just...SO freaking good. (1/3)
THIS PART!
Q: Maduro refused to leave office when Venezuelans elected Eduardo González in 2024, so shouldn’t the U.S. allow him to assume the Presidency now?
A: Yes, but Trump won’t want to relinquish control of the country until he’s profited from every barrel of oil that can be stolen.
In case you didn't know, the girls are FIGHTING!
Still more worldbuilding to do before I put paper to pen, but things are cooking 🍳 🍳🍳
How are you doing?

I've got the original people of my planet Kelaris (the Sanngo and the Chimochi). I've got a city of mages, and mysterious crater in the southern continent of Sorrhea and a young girl whose visions will point towards her destiny
Heyo my people! How are you? Looooonnnnnng time no speak (I'm still over at the naughty spot lol)
But things are slowly moving forward
Don't have definitive answers to post yet, but I'm exploring architectural styles for parts of my world & I'll always be fascinated with the various ways people have found to build and decorate their homes/temples/cities. I really love the Scandinavian and Japanese styles of buildings with no nails
That was mostly true for me with the Ratliff father & Rick (Chelsea's boyfriend). & the drama between Lochlan & Saxon was totally shocking for me. I also felt for Gaitok, who seemed so passive until the very end. But I still enjoyed the storyline & I'll be watching when they come back around again
I finished watching #TheWhiteLotus & while the finale definitely had me shook, this season felt a little slow. But I realized that we learned about some of the character's problems so early that it almost felt like their story had nowhere to blossom over several eps
Heyo Bluesky peeps! How're you holding up? Last week was a doozy for me, but this week feels more manageable. At least when I ignore the news lol
The city I've chosen is Sadasetra, a major city in the country of Gheimia, which is on the eastern coast of the continent Oceibari. It is one of the oldest cities on the continent and sits on the edge of the Benalu Bay.

Seriously!
Angie Stone was such a great songwriter. She left a rich musical legacy...

In the meantime, I've been a little stuck with my worldbuilding, so I pulled out an original TV script that I worked on a while ago and I'm going to get a consult for the first few pages. Sometimes it helps to bounce around projects while I get my brainstorming/creative synapses together lol
Even The Conclave, Emilia Perez, Dune and Wicked felt like more solid Oscar choices. (I know no one asked me). But Anora was a solid film and the actors definitely gave convincing performances. So those are my thoughts.
For me, The Substance had a greater emotional impact for a number of reasons.
I enjoyed the film, although I wished there had been a bit more of an emotional connection between Ani & Ivan before things went belly up. But I wouldn't have nominated this film for an Oscar versus the others I watched. +
Of course when Ivan's parents (rich Russian oligarchs) find out that their son is legally married, the move quick-fast to put an end to the shenanigans. Some comedy ensues as their bodyguards subdue Ani & they all go searching for Ivan, resulting in a somber realization. +
For me, this film was about two young ppl in their 20s who got caught up in a season of lust, wanting to escape some very real problems from their lives & clinging to each other, not knowing understanding that they had no foundation upon which to build a solid relationship. +
lots of controversy surrounding it. I didn't know that Ani was an exotic dancer/sex worker until the opening scene. Which didn't bother me. But I later saw people saying that the film was about sex workers & I didn't take it in that way. +
I've talked about this on *the other site*, but not here yet, so I will. I managed to see six out of the ten films nominated for Best Picture for an Oscar, one of which was #Anora. I went in completely blind about the film (which is rare for me) and enjoyed it. Although I later learned there was +
