Before I forget because I'm addicted to Pokopia and might not be online much for the next few days, here are your #AprilWorldbuilders prompt questions!

Aside from my current addiction, I've finished my BIG projects, so I am hoping to be more online, active and ready to engage this month!

#AprilWorldbuilders 13: Laws/etiquette regarding speech/gestures

In Essera it's considered uncivilized, and therefore rude, to speak any language but Stauba.

It's also the height of boorishness to speak to someone of higher rank unless they've spoken first or given permission. #epicfantasy

May Worldbuilders Day 1 Languages spoken in work in progress or published book?

#AprilWorldBuilders Day 1

In Sigils, Omeran is just what I call English. It keeps it feeling otherworldly.

The other languages spoken are completely fictional.

-Kharvali, by the indigenous northern frozen desert people.
-Navikulan, by enemy #1 of the empire.

I've been world building since I was 9 years old. I had my first short story published. It was a science fiction story. The characters were all kids in my 3rd grade class. there were aliens and we were in space on a ship. #AprilWorldbuilders #writingcommunity

April Worldbuilders prompt list 30, How long have you been worldbuilding?

#AprilWorldbuilders 30

I've been worldbuilding since I was in my early teens and wrote my first novel in a notebook. It was a teen mystery like The Famous Five or Kitty Drew and it's really bad 😆 But worldbuilding for my fantasy world, since 2017, if my notes are correct.

Day 30 #AprilWorldbuilders

Has it already been eleven years?! Man, time flies😮‍💨

It’s been ten since I first created Anura, though there were years it took a back seat in favor of other settings (the worlds of the Eleutherian League, the Silver Shrike, and superhero alt-Earth).

Day 30

Probably since I've been writing...the first few years were fanfiction, and the world was mostly built for me, I just added a few things to it. I didn't create my own world until I started to write my triology back in 2015, so 10ish years I guess

Day 30 #aprilworldbuilders: I don't even quite remember how long I've been building the world of the Living Sword, but the first sparks started at least a few years before I published the first book in 2013.

So I've been thinking of this particular world off an on for about 15 years now.

30. Worldbuilding record

Ever since I decided my first homebrew DnD game in 2017 would take place in the kingdom of Tsentrin.

God, those were the days. Days when I didn't see only the gaps in my world...

#AprilWorldbuilders 30: how long have you been worldbuilding?

I wanna say about 5 years, once I really got into draft 1 of "A Daughter's Hope" and Asloria finally started materializing before my eyes.

Since ~1998. The first novel I wrote, which cannot see the light of day because it is terrible, was written 2001-2005.

Sanctuary was a small story taking place during big events. I prefer/ need to write stories that take place in/ have big worlds, full of research & experiences.

#AprilWorldBuilders

Depends on what you mean. I've been writing since I was 8, so that would be 37 years.
But on any specific world?

Mudlarks has been 18 years, but it's more realism.

Fantasy only about 2yrs.

Current WIP is set in a world I've been kinda building for maybe 10 or more years?

My worldbuilding started with my #DnD homebrew, so 10 years?

It has nowhere near the craziness of the Forgotten Realms, but Nexus has its fair share of crises.

And an overarching plot. To think my friends/players thought I was joking when I said I had a 10 year plan.

#AprilWorldbuilders Day 30

I've been worldbuilding almost my entire life. At age 7, I created universes in which my favorite characters from film, TV and books could interact. (I didn't know what fanfic or crossovers were back then.) Eventually, I made my own characters, mythologies, languages...

Gosh, well I've been writing stories since I was a teensy little kid. But I think my first attempts at real *worldbuilding* started around 5th-6th grade. Funnily enough, one of those first attempts was a very rough version of #Atlantis!

How long have you been worldbuilding?

I started seriously worldbuilding when I was in high school, but before I had my driver's license, so we'll say I was probably around 14-15. So (dating myself here) that means I've been worldbuilding for over 25 years.

I have been making up worlds and writing stories set in them since I was in 6th grade, so 30+ years.

I started playing DnD and other tabletop RPGs when I was 18 and that really fueled the addiction.

30. It started since I was a kid. Whenever my sister & I play dress-up, or "do some acting", we'd come up with different stories & settings, then spend the entire afternoon immerse in our made-up world 😊
