Gary Smith has been re-elected unopposed as our General Secretary and Treasurer.

He joined GMB at 16 as an apprentice in the gas industry and this is his second term of office, following his first election as the union’s leader in 2021.

⚠️ Fresh, hot meals at risk.
⚠️Low‑paid staff facing job losses.

The message was loud and clear: Hands Off Our Kitchens!

Nuclear power is essential for energy independence and achieving net zero.

The decision from government could not be more timely in these turbulent times.
 
And the benefits for working people are huge: good union jobs and more secure, affordable energy 👏

Denby is a British icon: producing some of the world’s finest ceramics.

Workers are worried.

We need urgent government action on energy prices to support the sector through this turbulent time.
