Celebrated author Thomas King revealed this week that he is not Cherokee.
The revelation has left many people shocked and upset, though the admission is not coming as a big surprise for others.
That’s the topic on this week’s Truth & Politics panel.
I bet it hurt to have someone you admired say that to you. Especially when it’s not true - there are many, many successful landscape painters. Success can be measured in many ways, kindness is one of them.
How did you feel when they said that to you? And I’m curious what kind of art style they make (without giving them away).
Every time this old irrelevant uncle opens his mouth my elbows go up further.
“I chose to champion this amendment because I believe there is nothing more vital to the survival of First Nations than this change,” Prosper told the committee
We have those. We need STAFF for them. We also need guarantees the money will be used for health care since some of our Premiers are starving our system.
If you want there to be a certain kind of art in ten years, you gotta pay for that art now. You gotta make sure small time artists can survive the next ten years. If you can't afford to, then tell people about the art and artists you love. Gush about them. Help others find them.
It’s back artists and art lovers!
Read the thread on how to participate.
Right? It’s the ones getting pockets lined and promises made. With OUR money. They don’t even hide it.

Butterscotch Bear, so soft and sweet,
Caramel paws and gentle feet.
A warm embrace, a quiet glow,
A cozy friend to take it slow.
🐻🥰🌈
Butterscotch is a little gay bear, made by a not so little gay bear (who also happens to be this potter.)

Today marks the beginning of Treaties Recognition Week. Treaties are living agreements that require ongoing commitment and shared responsibility between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. We all have responsibilities as treaty people and must collectively honour all treaties across Turtle Island.
Codrington Ontario authentic Thai food by Deng. Pad Thai and green curry.
The sun is shining and it’s the last day of my local farmer’s market so it’s The Big One.
Beeswax candles, Xmas gifts and Deng’s Thai food were money well spent. Shop local!
The Blue Jays were so good they made non sports people watch the World Series.
That was the greatest baseball game I’ve ever seen.
Watching this game was almost as intense as counting 300 bars and then having to nail a singular perfect note on trumpet.
No
I can’t handle this stress, what a game!
Is baseball always this exciting? Wow!
If you’re a Jays fan here your heart bursts or it breaks, not much in-between, here it comes
