At our McCleery Ranch sanctuary in Montana, father-daughter duo, Jerry and Tess, simultaneously enjoy the various “furniture” pieces in their enclosure. We aim to provide every enclosure with a variety of vertical structures and lean-tos to allow for respite from winter snowstorms and summer sun.

As a sanctuary, we're always working to provide our residents as much room to engage in natural behaviors and simply "be" in as natural a setting as possible. That means male wolfdog, Mesa, can spend as much time as he wants lounging around in his enclosure, watching animal care staff work nearby.
Spring is in the air, and many of the individuals in our sanctuary are in a playful mood. Wolfdogs Layla and Lore have settled into an affectionate and spirited companionship. #ThrowbackThursday Shadow (2010-2023), was one of Wolf Haven's most memorable residents. For many years, his handsome face was the first one visitor's would see when they entered the sanctuary. Shadow was known for his gangly & goofy nature, and for always wanting to have the last word during howls
Male wolfdog, Luca, has a curious way of enjoying his meals. Almost every time he gets fed, he buries his portion of food. However, he doesn’t leave it cached for long. Mere minutes afterward, he digs it up to guard or to eat! This is one of Luca’s adorable quirks that highlight his individuality.
It's Montana Monday! Female McCleery wolf Speedgoat thoroughly enjoyed tearing apart a cardboard box to get to the rib cage hidden inside. Enrichment is important for keeping sanctuary animals curious about their environments and engaged in natural behaviors.

Coyote Norman has settled in so well. He frequently raises his voice to join sanctuary howls - and to let his general opinions be known. Norman and Hope have developed a wonderful bond, and his presence has made her more relaxed and playful.
