Game code has a tendency to be this bizarre spaghetti of system interactions, which makes it hard to test reliably. Tests typically require or force cleaner code in my experience, and game code often is anything but that. You end up with a mess of basically integration tests that are brittle.

Relented and am now porting some C# tools to python for my colleagues to use. But I’m making them very happy so there’s that. And AI makes it a non-effort so I don’t really have to really deal with python other than testing things.
