It's not often you see two new fish in a day, let alone two new new non-native invasive fish.

Following on the from the Sunbleak netted earlier, I also saw Topmouth Gudgeon, Pseudorasbora parva, a species in the process of being eradicated from Britain.

This Ring Ouzel dropped vertically out of the sky into the tallest elm on this ridge at RSPB Hope Farm today. A nice one for #PWC2026! @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

There are normally three characters on the nasal saddles of these French Tufted Ducks. One in the middle, two on the side. Yours could be something like "FB=" but pictures from other angles might confirm

I'm reading Bird's Nests (Bruce Campbell, 1953) ahead of spring and it contains this photograph. No location but the background trees look shredded to me

You were right about it being from Blunham! First resighting since being ringed there January 2024

I've had one at WWT Slimbridge that had been ringed in Shropshire so you never know! I think it's Project Penelope, will send it off later

The 3 Bewick's Swans, Red-breasted Merganser, and Common Scoter were great to see at Grafham today. Best of the rest were a 1st winter Mediterranean Gull and a German-ringed Caspian Gull X2F1 @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

There were a few Dun Sentinels amongst the driftwood/rotting vegetation. I found them new to the county at Saul Warth in winter 2023 so it looks like they are established here now.
