My silver helms were ultimately victorious, before going on to kill his mortar. Whilst my archers killed his infantry and outriders allowing me to win the day, but not before a mortar shell killed my mage! (who once again did very little in this game) #oldworld

Round 2 (also 500 points) was against Renegades Crowns on a close encounter map. This resulted in a quick but fierce engagement! My opponent went first, with his knights charging my spearmen. Thankfully my spears held firm allowing me to flank charge him in turn with my silver helms
Glad you enjoyed it Nick
In my first official game of the tournament this week my elves soundly defeated the foul Beastmen Brayherds. My silver helms this time excelled themselves. That said I was lucky that my opponent only managed to cast Viletide once, and that my spears held out long enough for my SH for a rear charge
Here is the very latest from Caroline Goodson, hot off the presses! It is an amazing and incredibly important study. Already put it in my syllabus! academic.oup.com/past/advance...
I'm glad to hear it π
P.s. if you are working on an article then I would definitely recommend considering @royalhistsoc.org - I had such a positive experience with them
A reminder that my latest article is available through Open Access.
If you are interested in late medieval or early modern English warfare then be sure to give it a read or share.
A muddy pup
The best type of victory π
Last week I had a practice game playing against Chaos Dwarfs. My first ever game of Warhammer the Old World. My poor elves were massacred Last Samurai style, but it was still great fun!
My 500 point High Elf Realms list: 5 silver helms, 10 archers, 14 spearmen (with full command), and a level 2 foot mage
My 500 point High Elf Realm list for my local Warhammer club's Path to Glory campaign
Nice looking minis and Spearhead seems like a great concept. I've only played one game of AoS so far, which I do not enjoy especially tbh. This year I'm planning on playing a lot of ToW with my old 4-5th edition High Elf army minis. Have lots of painting to do still
There is certainly further research that should be carried out on this topic
I'm glad that you have found it useful Vincent. Thank you for your feedback and your suggestion regarding the origin of the demi-lance. It is an interesting issue. Whether they derive from hobelars, or other types of light cavalry, or alternatively from men-at-arms.
I hope you find it to be of interest
Fantastic colours - especially the blue! π
My latest article is published in the RHS and is available through Open Access. In which I propose a radical (perhaps controversial) new explanation for how and why English armies and soldiers changed across the Late Medieval-Early Modern divide #medievalwarfare

Finally got round to spending some birthday vouchers
I've seen this in this format in a bibliography: New name (formerly published under the name...), then title of the book/article etc...
What if you drew a map, but nobody showed up for it?
That's the story I'm telling in my latest Patreon post, about a commissioned map that never quite got finished. It's a fun map, and the post is free and publicly available. So enjoy!

Truly delicious
My completed blood knights for my Soulblight Gravelord spearhead Age of Sigmar force. Really pleased with how these miniatures turned out, especially the bases #warhammercommunity #ageofsigmar

I had no idea just how much concussion affects your life when you suffer a blow to the head. Unless it happens to you, it is easy to be ignorant about it. I'm happy that I am starting to feel more like my normal self again after some time recovering though. I've been lucky all things considered
