Is this such a surprise, given opinion polling on the issue? There are also good left arguments against independence, though we hardly ever hear them. But if the Lib Dems should be clear that if Wales should choose independence, that is a democratic right.

AI's not so convinced about the old Labour Party.

A while back the BBC gave me a Talent award for a radio comedy - now the audio comedies I made over lockdown which have been so popular have a new home at audio.com/jon-blake - do have a listen.

Yesterday, MPs held a 1.5 hours debate on foreign interference in Britain. Mentions:
Russia - 128
China - 32
Israel - 2 in passing, one saying it is an “ally”.
A quarter of MPs and a third of the Cabinet have received funding from the Israel lobby.
Well, they've already got Jim Davidson firing up right wing veterans (it's all on youtube) so could this be part of the uniform for their paramilitary wing?
They're only pretending it's all about economics when it's all about politics.
And just to note that Dulwich College, despite knowing all about Farage's racism, still made him a prefect, which speaks volumes about the UK's elite private schools, which after all were designed to run an empire.
Looking out for this having read your Sarah Ferguson piece!
You have to factor in the language issue in Wales, where Plaid are still widely regarded as the party of Welsh-speaking professionals. I predict Your Party will also be a big factor here.
As a white supremacist he is merely expressing how he feels all non-white people should address him.
Yes, but we can counter just about everything the so-called Christians say by actually quoting Jesus (saying this as an atheist).
Jesus: Love thy neighbour as thyself.
Charlie Kirk: I can't stand the word empathy.
Apparently the latter was a follower of the former.

I can't really see him being in Jesus's arms, can anybody?
A march organised by the son of a migrant where the star speaker was the USA's most famous migrant, despite having fallen out with the even more famous grandson of a migrant. The theme of this march was saving Britain from migrants.

Increasingly confused by the world. Apparently yesterday there was a march organised by the son of a migrant where the star speaker was the USA's most famous migrant, despite having fallen out with the even more famous grandson of a migrant. The theme of this march was saving Britain from migrants.
I have a new site which combines articles about the books I've written over the past 40 years with political comment and lots more which will be hopefully of interest to the open-minded. It's at www.leftistbooks.com. #booksky #YA #kidsbooks

But entirely predictable from Starmer given his record from DPP onwards.
That's a very disrespectful comment, wouldn't you say?
How interesting you don't comment on the NATO quote. And nor do I say that a million have joined the new party. But I think we can safely say that when the new party does have membership, it will be vastly larger than the Greens who have been around since the 70s.
"The Green Party recognises that NATO has an important role in ensuring the ability of its member states to respond to threats to their security." Yes, that's the Green position. But let's face it, just over 20,000 voted in this election, while a million have signed up for the new left party.
Check out how many voted in this election - not much more than 20,000. I can't see them being much of a factor in events with a million signed up to the new left party.
