Put it in a plastic tub for 3 months with some non direct window light. Make sure to use RO or rain water. Always keep it soaking wet, but not inundated. If you het algae you've got too much water. Kepe the moss very compact. No peat, no other medium. Either it re-sprouts or it's sterilised.

Sphagnum teres is one of the few species in the UK with a consistently prominent central bud to its capitulum. A great indicator of base enrichment and a memorable species to learn for upland habitat identification!

Sphagnum Teres

A loose growing, lawn forming species found in a base-rich flush in the Yorkshire dales.

Glowing in the sun and showing off its amazing colour, sometimes described as 'malt vinegar'- but it can be completely green in shade!
