I was sad to learn that Dr. Kirsty Duncan has died at only 59 yrs.
Before entering politics where she was brilliant at supporting science research and evidence-based policy, Dr. Duncan was an academic, as well as a role model and advocate for #WomenInSTEM.

BREAKING & BIG: Today in PARIS, citizens voted in a referendum to PEDESTRIANIZE 500 MORE of the city's streets, giving fresh momentum to efforts by city leaders to create people-places, curb car usage, and improve air quality. 66% of Parisians voted in favour of the measure, official results showed!
🧪 Meet Lise Meitner: The nuclear physicist who explained atomic fission in 1939, revolutionizing science. Despite her groundbreaking work, her male colleague Otto Hahn received the 1944 Nobel Prize while she was excluded. #womenshistorymonth #STEM
So glad you’re here.
You can ban DEI, erase the Tuskegee Airmen, gut Medicare, and ignore climate change—but you can’t erase our memories or silence our truths. Dumb down your MAGAs all you want. Our communities will keep learning, teaching, and fighting. We will never dumb down. #FactsMatter #TruthMatter
Similar surveys have been done in the US in Canada. It seems like dumbing down the generations is really working to the advantage of the Nazis.
The number of people who think that the Nazis only put the Jews into concentration camps is alarming.
Trump supporters are already spinning excuses for why he can’t lower egg prices. Their mental gymnastics to defend his broken promises are wild. It’ll be fascinating—and tragic—to see how far they’ll go, even justifying starving to death for him. Cult loyalty knows no bounds.
If you see someone sleeping in their car, no you didn’t. People just trying to find a safe place for the night aren’t your problem. What kind of person reports that? Mind your business and let folks rest. The world’s hard enough without you making it harder.
The communications pause at health agencies has extended to external procurement orders for supplies for internal research @ NIH, sources tell @reportergoodman.bsky.social & me. Some researchers worry they won't be able to buy test tubes to draw blood or food for animals: www.cnn.com/2025/01/24/h...
I answered a reporter's question: "The long-term well-being of our climate system is incompatible with the short-term gains of shareholders." I stand by that statement.
A fantastic interview with Canadian Scientist Katharine Hayhoe about solution aversion manifesting as science denial. A logically and emotionally intelligent perspective.

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

If you need help spotting a toxic, gaslighting relationship, TikTok has you covered: lies, silence, behavior shifts, and crap communication. 180M Americans: don’t take back that looser boyfriend who stormed out last night. You deserve way better.

ICE is planning immigration raids starting Tuesday. Please amplify.
To creators rushing back to TikTok: Did you ask about the creator fund? Are you getting paid? They cut you off yesterday with no promises for last month’s content, and today you assume they’ll pay? That app’s been silent—get answers before diving back in.
On the last day of a Democratic presidency, you can’t help but wonder: how many decades before we see another? Will Trump cement his hold on the GOP, or will someone like Vance challenge him? The future feels uncertain, but history shows nothing stays static for long.
One man had a dream of unity, justice & equality. Another dreams of being seen as something he’s not. On this day, let’s honor the legacy of MLK Jr.—a leader who built bridges, not walls. Choose light over noise, hope over chaos. They can’t stop the dream when we stand together.
