Former Liberal cabinet minister Kirsty Duncan dead at 59 | CBC News Former Liberal cabinet minister Kirsty Duncan has died at the age of 59 following a years-long battle with cancer.

I was sad to learn that Dr. Kirsty Duncan has died at only 59 yrs.
Before entering politics where she was brilliant at supporting science research and evidence-based policy, Dr. Duncan was an academic, as well as a role model and advocate for #WomenInSTEM.

Similar surveys have been done in the US in Canada. It seems like dumbing down the generations is really working to the advantage of the Nazis.

The number of people who think that the Nazis only put the Jews into concentration camps is alarming.

Eggs may be expensive forever It's not just bird flu that's causing egg prices to soar. Here's why they've gotten so expensive — and are likely to stay sky-high.

Trump supporters are already spinning excuses for why he can’t lower egg prices. Their mental gymnastics to defend his broken promises are wild. It’ll be fascinating—and tragic—to see how far they’ll go, even justifying starving to death for him. Cult loyalty knows no bounds.

If you see someone sleeping in their car, no you didn’t. People just trying to find a safe place for the night aren’t your problem. What kind of person reports that? Mind your business and let folks rest. The world’s hard enough without you making it harder.

Why peat is a key ingredient in whisky and the climate crisis Whisky production involves the burning of peat, but damaging peatlands releases stored carbon back into the atmosphere where it adds to climate problems.

Prominent climate scientist argues it's time to ditch the 'myth of neutrality' | CBC Radio Climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe talks to Bob McDonald about the polarization of science and why she thinks scientists should stop pretending to be neutral when it's our planet at risk.

A fantastic interview with Canadian Scientist Katharine Hayhoe about solution aversion manifesting as science denial. A logically and emotionally intelligent perspective.

Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

* Currently paused by Executive Order

On the last day of a Democratic presidency, you can’t help but wonder: how many decades before we see another? Will Trump cement his hold on the GOP, or will someone like Vance challenge him? The future feels uncertain, but history shows nothing stays static for long.
