My TV is shocking. Heaven an absolute lock but even then I’ve had to make sacrifices. I might go against VDV to give me more elsewhere.

Agree with your summary though I give it a 4, probably mostly for nostalgia. Theres a lot of exposition in the news reports I hadn’t really noticed before like did they really go into that much detail about the air filter?!

I watched Apollo 13 this week inspired by Artemis. I was looking for First Man as hadn’t seen it but it’s not available. Really enjoy Hanks, Bacon and Paxton in this.

I can’t remember a thing about the 1st one except that I was bored. Not seen the others. Depends on definition of success. It’s the $ for Disney, sure, but for me, a film like that should impact the cultural zeitgeist. Think of the way people still talk about Indiana Jones, The Goonies etc.

Made loads of money yet nobody cares about these films and never will.

Lasers were a huge scientific breakthrough and now we use them to play with cats. Computers were also a huge scientific breakthrough and now we use them to look at pictures of cats. In other words, science was made for cats.

When climate breaks down these are the people and whose decisions history will judge very very badly. Plunging future generations into misery for short term political gain (not that they will get any).

This is a bit stupid, and insulting really. Mining communities valued their cohesion and support for each other, in their social ties, camaraderie in their unions and earning enough to support a family. That’s what they miss. They had no love for the pits or the impact they had on their health.

Thiaw basically sums up my #FPL season. Inevitable benching after I buy him when everybody says he’s nailed. He gets on, scores, and is foiled by a dubious refereeing decision. My luck has been in the 🗑️ all season.

I know this is generally @fpljoe.bsky.social terrain but I couldn’t resist it, just this once.
