Juvenile black bellied whistling ducks, Pinckney Island NWR, Beaufort County SC 8/9/21
Fifteen juvenile black bellied whistling ducks among bright green leafy ground-covering plants. They hold their heads high, alert and watching. They are mostly brown with gray heads and black bills and dark crown stripes. They are very cute.

Great egret walking along the near bank of a pond, facing right. Every feather on this bird is white. Her bill is yellow and daggerlike and her neck is white and noodle like. Super long.
