Here are some photos of our team from our field trip to Rinyirru National Park in 2024 and 2025.
This trip was conducted in collaboration with Rinyirru Lakefield Aboriginal Corporation, Laura Rangers, and South Cape York Catchments in Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park.
In July 2025, our field team, in collaboration with the Rinyirru Lakefield Aboriginal Corporation, Laura Rangers, South Cape York Catchments, tagged this juvenile Bull Shark in Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park CYPAL.
Expedition funded by: Queensland Government Threatened Species Research Grant.

The Freshwater Sawfish has recently been uplisted from vulnerable to endangered under the EPBC Act.
The uplisting highlights the urgency and importance of the research we are doing for the future of sharks and rays in Australia.
