There's a city council meeting tomorrow but I can't promise I'll be able to live tweet it. Been working on the 2026 CVAF Guide which goes to press tomorrow. My brain's pretty fried so I may just take the afternoon off.
BTW not sure if the CVAF lineup has been announced yet but if you zoooooom in…

Also: no AI.
Fuck AI.
Although, on the latest episode, we do talk about the AI data centre coming to Regina's border. (Unless it craps out like a canola crush facility.) #yqrcc queencityib.com/podcasts/202...
If you're sick of billionaire-owned platforms, the Queen City Improvement Bureau is on a "website." You can comment/like/subscribe to our Regina city stuff coverage there. No billionaires or billionaire shills involved. No garbage bins, either. #yqrcc queencityib.com/podcasts
Thanks for following but that’s it for SUMA’s 2026 convention. #suma2026
Moe: Thank you to everyone in this room for the leadership you provide. #suma2026
The Premier being unaware of FCM's green fund even though it has existed nearly as long as his party and has been discussed by Regina's council many times in the past is...extremely on-brand.

Moe: Where we can encourage collaboration, we want to support that. It is how we will get to regional successes. #suma2026
Moe: We are not looking to force amalgamation, but to support partnerships. I want to say thank you to SUMA & SARM for going as a united front to Ottawa. That mission was unique from the federal govt perspective. #suma2026
Schmalz: On amalgamation, that is not something this govt will do. #suma2026
Schmalz: I believe we were going down the road of broadbased amalgamation. As a govt, we will never force that in Sask. We will only look at restructuring when we have noncompliance or lack of capacity. #suma2026
Last Question: Clr Mancinelli: The AI data centre is a great opportunity. On regional cooperation, I noted that not one RM participated in that session. When are we goign to reorganize our system in Sask for success? #suma2026
Ross: We're committed to working w/ the public & reviewing recommendations that have been sent to us. Please find our staff & we'll set up a chance to discuss this more. Sports are an important part of our environment here & we want to make sure it's safe for everyone. #suma2026
Q on keeping youth protected from predators: Can we make it mandatory for criminal record checks for coaches & others involved in sports. #suma2026
Cockrill: We have to get students out into rural communities so they can see the opportunities for them there. #suma2026
Cockrill: I think the conversation on virutal care, it does not replace what we do in hospitals & clinics. It's meant to augment. NPs could have an expanded role in emergency rooms. We're adding more seats to college of medicine, & they have to have more SK students. #suma2026
Q from Maple Creek: I'd like to thank MLAs Gardner & Wilson, when I came in, I had questions & they were able to support me. On virtual care, it is taking over boots on the ground. How will you help small communities that need staff in their facilites? #suma2026
Cockrill: Yes. ANy virtual care that rolls out in the fall, NPs will be a part of that. I want NPs to be right there in that space. #suma2026
Q from West End: I was happy to see the Patient First Healthcare plan & work on nurse practitioners. Has any thought been given to a nurse practitioner led virtual system? #suma2026
Cockrill: We have made investments in that. We know it's a challenge to have to travel to Sktoon. I'm excited about what we're going to offer in La Ronge. that's a model I hope we can expand on smaller scale in other communities. #suma2026
Q on dialysis: Is there a consideration to bring that equipment to rural communities w facilities to handle them? #suma2026
Cockril: We need to be talking about "ands". Doctors AND nurse practitioners AND pharmacists. #suma2026
Cockrill: There are gaps in primary care, that's why it's our number one priority. We want to make sure people have access to primary care. IT's not just about doctors but also about nurse practitioners. It's about building out teams. #suma2026
Q from Clr Turnbull of Regina: On opportunities on healthcare… we're doing a lot investing to get doctors here. What about spaces for them in rural communities? There is a difficulty finding offices for them. Same w/ virtual care, you have to infrastructure for that. #suma2026
Cockrill: Infrastructure has costs to maintain. Want to balance that w/ patient care. Wil continue to have discussions. #suma2026
Prince Albert Q: Years ago people undertaking long periods of cancer treatment could park for free at hospitals. Can you extend compassion to people who might be facing most difficult part of their lives. #suma2026
Moe: We have a responsibility as individuals to engage w/ one another to support one another. Today is a different world. You only need to turn the news on to see that. #suma2026
Moe: if you have suggestions on this, we're all ears. #suma2026
Moe: You'll hear us talk about our recovery oriented care, transitional housing investment. That's at the tough end. If we can support one another & come forward w/ innovative ways for govt to support one another at the front end when we notice a friend that is starting to have those challengers…
Moe: All too often, the mental health challenges that we're facing in this world today, they're very different than they were, & we're taught to deal w/ them. For my generation we were taught to grit our teeth & work through it. Things are better now. #suma2026
