Super inspiring day yesterday, protesting ICE with 100k other Bay Area folks. And all the kids!! Seriously the San Francisco high school students showed up with passion and organization and it gave me hope.

Did a last minute upcycle today for a denim jacket because I had an event to go to and nothing to wear. Abolish Ice!!!

Most recent finish — patched these 501’s with t-shirt scraps I wove together and then added a bunch of stitches to hold it in place.

I love how this chair turned out! It was actually a fairly quick project—I’d already done some of the denim patchwork. And now I have a chair pocket for snacks!!

I have this sweatshirt that is super comfy but I don’t love the colors of the screen print, so I’m experimenting by embroidering with Sashiko thread on top. I think I like it… not totally sure where this will end up.

Not that I needed an excuse, but I decided to make an upcycled patchwork dress for H+H next week.

Yep, I’m going to a trade show for new product when my focus is upcycling and secondhand. But that’s exactly where we need more sustainable voices!

Normally I do buttonholes on my machine but this was through 6 layers of fabric and the machine buttonhole was super wonky—I was pleasantly surprised how well this worked with all the bulk!
