OPINION: (RNS) — Most past disagreements between popes and presidents have happened during times of high suspicion regarding the Catholic Church. Each case is different from what we are seeing today.

Our confirmation class teacher today accidentally named Tim Curry instead of Michael Curry as the former Presiding Bishop, and now I’m imagining what that would have been like! ⚓️
When a body is so broken that it is entirely dependent on the care of others or a mind is basically gone, we are called to give dignity to what remains, for it still houses one created in the image of God.
"What next?" Is a prayer, whether we realize it or not. "What next?" is an invitation for the Spirit, who stands at every crossroads to offer a word of wisdom, if only we will listen. - Steven Charleston 'Ladder to the Light'
We praise thee, O God; we acknowledge thee to be the Lord.

I lost my mother 1 month ago tomorrow, I couldn't stop crying during the church service this morning and this afternoon has been just as bad.
One byproduct of everything that’s happening in this country right now is the realization that the people you could once go to for a modicum of comfort are no longer the people you can go to for a modicum of comfort.
It’s jarring. It’s unsettling. And it’s really, really hard.
A standing woman smiles warmly at the camera, dressed in beautiful orange and white bishop garb. She holds a silver crozier (a bishop’s staff) in front of her. She has glasses and either short hair or her hair pulled back. She’s wearing a miter (pointy orange hat), an embroidered cope (cape thing), a cassock-alb (white robe), and a matching orange stole.

Day 14 at the hospital with my mother. She is having a very hard time shaking of the anesthesia from yesterday's procedure. I pray that she gets better soon. As for me, well let's just say that I want to hibernate for about 6 months after she gets out. *sigh*
having in remembrance his blessed passion and precious death, his mighty resurrection and glorious ascension;
Amen!
Holy cow! 40 degrees outside. I'm ready to put on shorts and mow my lawn! After I might lay out to get some sun on my ghost looking legs!

Episcopal Migration Ministries helps refugees all over the world. If you felt inspired by Bishop Budde’s sermon this week, consider making a gift in her honor: episcopalmigrationministries.org/donate-now/
So far I'm neither shocked now awed. I am, however, very sad.
If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have profoundly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

There are absolutely no "biblical" grounds for being anti-trans.
He-who-we-wont-name-because-even-typing-the-five-letters-tastes-like-dog-shit - feeling the weight today. Thank God for a solid lectionary and brave bishops.
For the record, Bishop Budde is a rock star.
We are going to need more like her in the days and years to come.

Hooray!
A heart shaped Transgender Pride flag on a white background centered below the words "Your validity is not dictated by an executive order."
To my friends and family in the trans/nonbinary community: who you are is valid, worthy of love and respect, and you deserve to live as your authentic selves. No executive order changes any of that.
i know everything is bad but i still think it's cool that we're getting a black Captain America and a jewish Superman this year.
