I keep going round in circles, writing and rewriting the first chapter to make it better - again - and again.

We're both scared of ghosts.
It's a MG adventure.
Tell us more and we could brainstorm. I had a similar blockage for my MC to get involved in a dangerous quest instead of going to the authorities. Kidnap of a family member fits the bill.
I'm keen to learn more as camp progresses.
Sounds great. I'm also putting aside the manuscript I entered in Revpit to work on my new WIP. One chapter in so far but need to revise it after CP feedback.
Definitely a morning person.
Hi #CRPSugarGliders my MG WIP is about 2 cousins who travel to the wilds of Madagascar in search of a legendary lost treasure after coming into possession of a pirate's encrypted diary. They may not make it out alive.
I'm excited too but not very good at using Bluesky. The sneak peek of prompts looks like fun.
Thanks Readers. We're so lucky to have people like you to support our writing aspirations
This sounds great. I'll start packing for camp
It's finally here! Time to announce our 2026 #RevPit Annual Contest winners and runners-up!

Congratulations Jaymi
Congratulations to Rachel. Thanks for editing Hanna and I'm blown away to be your runner-up.
Congratulations everyone. The books all sound amazing.
Thanks for sharing these thoughts. The support of other writers and RevPit editors is so important. Congratulations to all winners and everyone who participated.
That is so generous. You've been fabulous.
A meat pie at the footy. I am an Aussie after all.
Thanks Demi for offering to help aspiring writers to improve our manuscripts. #10queries offers a great chance for us to see what editors look for. Good luck everyone - for Monday and for your writing journey
Thanks so much for sharing your journey as a writer and these thoughts with us. It's a hard slog at the moment, that's for sure. I so hope to see my books in a bookshop one day, but if not, I'll self-publish copies for my children and grandchildren. Best wishes Team Amethyst
Thanks Demi
Thanks Demi. It's MG (8-12) mystery at 42,000W
These insights have been extremely helpful. Ironically I've been trying to bump up my word count. Now I'll go the other way. Thanks.
Thanks. It is worrying and depressing, but good to hear the truth.
I have a new WIP - a MG adventure. Ollie Rowbottom marches to her own pirate drum - until one day she is called upon to solve a perplexing coded message and find the pirate's legendary treasure. If she fails, her mother dies.

Hi Demi. Thanks for being an editor for REVPIT. It's a great opportunity for all of us aspiring authors. I'm excited about sending you my MG mystery set in a haunted Scottish castle with hidden treasure and more than just Poe vibes - he's integral to the mystery! Lili Wilkinson is great.
Thanks.
Hi Hanna,
Thanks for being an editor for REVPIT. For MG you like stories grounded in the real world but with a touch of magic. Would magic include a touch of the supernatural world like ghosts?
Would you be interested in a MG mystery that's not fun, but scary - set in a haunted Scottish castle with a secret passage, hidden treasure and a murderer on the loose?
