A digital chibi drawing of my interpretation of Callie from the Sir Callie series by Esme Symes-Smith in a meme. Callie, an orange-haired kid wearing a green medieval tunic, angrily sits on grass with their legs out in front of them. Their simplified hands are at their sides touching the grass. The text around them reads in all caps, “Touching grass isn’t enough, I need bad things to happen to terrible people in power.”
I heard we were making Sir Callie memes?
(This is in reference to a fictional chancellor & a magical witch, purely for comedic & fictitious purposes.)

A digital comic page depicting a scene between Callie & Elowen from Sir Callie and The Champions of Helston by Esme Symes-Smith. The text at the top reads, “Sir Callie and The Champions of Helston. Chapter 15, Page 171. Dialogue & characters by Esme Symes-Smith. Art by Rachel Martin, @CartoonCreatureLover. The comic begins with Elowen looking down at Callie, who is looking up at her while covering up an open blank-paged sketchbook, as she sets a plate of biscuits on the desk. Elowen says, “Take a break. You look exhausted. You must’ve been studying since dawn.” Callie says, “Haha.” & thinks, “But I feel it too. Must be something in the weather.” They yawn & put a biscuit in their mouth, getting lost in their thoughts as they chew, thinking, “Lemon. Score. Or maybe it’s all those late nights finally catching up with me. Either way—” Elowen interrupts their thought, startling them with her cold hand pressed against their forehead; she says, “Well, you’re not feverish. But you do look pale.” Callie scoots away from her, their cheeks reddened & less pale than before, saying, “Rude.” but thinks, “Usually I hate being fussed over, but apparently I mind it a whole lot less when it’s Elowen.” Elowen looks down at them annoyed, her hand pulled back from their forehead.
I’ve been wanting to try making comics for YEARS now, & FINALLY got around to cleaning up one of my MANY notecard thumbnails; this one adapting a piece of what’s probably my favorite chapter in Book 1 of Sir Callie!
(Part 1 of, maybe, 6? We’ll see!)

A close up image of the first panel from the comic. Elowen is looking down at Callie, who is looking up at her while covering up an open blank-paged sketchbook, as she sets a plate of biscuits on the desk. Elowen says, “Take a break. You look exhausted. You must’ve been studying since dawn.”
You know what? I don’t talk much on here since I usually never know what to talk about, but I think I’d like to yap about the work & choices that went into that first Sir Callie comic I made (because I put a lot of little details & things into it)!
So, here’s a thread! (0/20)
The comic begins with Elowen looking down at Callie, who is offscreen, with her arms crossed, saying, “Well, it’s true. I’m not going to lie to you. Friends tell each other harsh truths.” Callie responds, looking away from her, “Wish you’d tell me nice lies instead.” Elowen suddenly bends down, getting close to Callie’s face, both blushing, with Callie looking surprised as El says while smiling sweetly, “Find someone else.” They look away from El, face still red, “Don’t you have needlework to stab?” She confidently responds, already a couple steps back from them, “I’m a prodigy. I can leave my lessons whenever I like.” Callie points at themself, “To come & bother me?” She turns to face them, placing her hands over her heart, & playfully responds, blushing, “To bestow upon you the company you so desperately crave.” Elowen dips into an elegant curtsy, & playfully says with one eye still open, sparkles all around her, & face still blushing, “Man cannot live by a sword’s companionship alone.” Callie stares at you, the audience, completely unamused & tired of this already.
Finally! Page 2 (of 6?) of the Book 1, Chapter 15, Sir Callie comic is done!
It’s very fitting I managed to finish this part in time for Valentine’s Day, haha! I had so much fun drawing all the Elowens, I’m not sure which one is my favorite!

A close up image of the fifth panel from the Sir Callie Book 1, Chapter 15 comic. Callie points at themself, “To come & bother me?” Elowen turns to face them, placing her hands over her heart, & playfully responds, blushing, “To bestow upon you the company you so desperately crave.”
Surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly since little details are kind of my thing), I have some things to yap about regarding my 2nd page to that Chapter 15 Sir Callie comic!
So here’s a thread! (0/18)
Life's hard when you don't have thumbs or five fingers for that matter, let alone when you're the size of a 'horse', whatever that is to humans. Talita has grown up starborn her entire life, and around humans that are roughly half her preferred-standing size. Do you know someone who has to duck to enter a doorway? That doesn't go away in space unfortunately. Back Runaway to the Stars and support Jay Eaton!
[Talita, how do you normally count on your hands?] Gillie asks, trying from any angle to get Talita to try to start signing ASL as she's rather adept at reading handsigns but has incredible self-doubt about her ability to sign back as she is not human and does not have 5 fingers or one that is a thumb. "Uhm... it's not like ASL." Talita considers that she does not have thumbs even if her first or fourth finger can at like them. [SHOW ME!] Gillie signs enthusiastically. "Ok... Zero--" Talita counts with her fingers, 0 to 16. On one hand, showcasing the dexterity of her digits. Trying to replicated 10 as a human is incredibly difficult and would involve the human middle and pinky finger closed and the index and ring up.

A digital, full-body, illustration of Bentley in his beach outfit, on a light orange background; four alternating darker orange stripes decorate the edges of the image. Bentley is a fat & muscular, purple, goat-like monster with tall grey horns & long ears. He’s smiling & looking at the viewer, standing with his clawed hands on his furred hips. He’s wearing a turquoise amazonite pendant on a silver bead necklace chain & pear green shorts.
I've finished updating Bentley's design in time for Artfight this year! (& forgot to share the last one weeks ago, lol!)
(Bentley is my mascot, btw!) Lastly, here's him in his new beach outfit!

A digital, bust, illustration of Deidra Quinn, a dullahan woman with speckled skin, a dutch mohawk braid, & tall bat-like ears on a simple, darker blue-teal background. She’s facing our left & is looking slightly downward at something out of frame with a friendly & soft smile on her face.
Here's an older (but, still lovely) piece of my dullahan lady, Deidra Quinn!

A digital, full-body, illustration of Creature, a living costume that looks like an anthropomorphic hybrid of a sheep-dog-horse-troll. They stand against a flat, light, blueish-turquoise background; four alternating darker turquoise stripes decorate the edges of the image. Creature is standing there with a smile. One of their arms is held up so we can see what their palms look like, while the arm is held lower so we can see what the top of their hands look like.
To start 2026, here's a touched up full-body of my sona, Creature!
I finally cleared up their silhouette, fixed the foot perspective, & improved the shoulders to match how I've been drawing them for SC fanart!

A digital, full-body, illustration of Gwendolyn, a fat, soft pink furred, feminine-looking dullatroll with glasses & shoulder length dreadlocks, standing in the middle of a pink-colored oddities shop. The shop is full unusual decorative items. A taxidermied elk calf & turkey sit in the dark foreground. The walls are lined with framed bugs, fish, & birds. Humorously dressed taxidermied passenger pigeons stand on a table beside a geode. The shelf behind Gwendolyn is full of wet specimen sheep eyes, octopi, & snakes in globes, as well as & dry specimen birds & snakes in domes. Gwendolyn is contently smiling as they’re looking down at a small globe full of wet specimen sheep eyeballs in their hand, their other hand is absentmindedly playing with one of their vest’s tassels.

-- animated media comes in targeted age ranges, they think it's all the same (being its all for kids, no difference between a 5 to 10 year old, possibly because the same animated movie can usually be shown to & enjoyed by a 5 & 10 year old?)
Yeah, I know what kind of people you're talking about!
I'd imagine they might be the kind of person who genuinely thinks Shrek is a Disney movie, because *all* animation is Disney. (I have met people who thought this & I'm still haunted by them...)
Some people have no understanding that--
To be fair, I was watching preschool shows (Paw Patrol, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Wallykazam) at 10+ because when I got up before school & when I got home from school, that's often what was on TV around those times of day.

Re: 'H.R. 8250' "Parents Decide Act". This bill wants to force age verification on the operating system level.

I wanna go back to this bc some people were saying it's silly to comment on this because it was between the fed reserve and banks-- you saw last summer how paypros and banks had a propensity to blame each other when confronted about their censorship? Cutting off every blame route is important
I need to post this everywhere I can.
This is great advice on what you can do to combat that federal bill that will require OS level age verification in the USA.
Message your congressmen, tell them you will vote for their opposition if they support this bill in any way 👏

The replies to this are mostly great writers doing “I don’t know how how good writers do it but I, a bad writer, just work until it’s done and then fix it” and that should tell you everything you need to know about writers as a species.
A digital, fullbody, illustration of a stockier interpretation of Callie from the Sir Callie book series by Esme Symes-Smith, more heavily based on the series’ descriptions the character. Callie is a 12 year old kid with messy orange-ginger hair that’s styled with bangs & pulled back into a low ponytail. They have warm, beige, freckled skin, hazel eyes, & is wearing an emerald green medieval tunic with a copper trim, a creme-colored undershirt, reddish-brown pants with roughed up knees, & dark, red-brown, leather gloves, boots, & knot belt. They stand determinedly, a tooth missing from their smile, wielding Satin, their sword. Satin has been interpreted as a leaf-bladed sword with a green, gem-like, diamond-shaped, dragon pommel & the sword’s name visibly engraved into the blade; otherwise, Satin resembles the book cover’s design. Callie stands against a soft orange background, framed by a darker orange rectangle, which is decorated with four-pointed stars, taken from the Sir Callie logo, at each corner, & triangular pointed shapes; the frame coincidentally resembles a fantasy spellbook.
A cropped, close up image of Callie's face; their freckles, Hazel eyes, & missing tooth are easier to see in this image.
Sir Callie 2.0!
After realizing their descriptions are different from the book cover, I wanted to update my Book 1 Callie design!
Their hair is messier, they've got their green tunic, & I knocked out a tooth!

I don't know if it would be useful to you (or anyone else who's got the same problem) or not, but I would imagine looking for specific brands that offer sewing patterns with trackable codes might help avoid getting fake AI ones, such as Simplicity patterns or something?
Here's an alternative/additional action to calling reps to save our Forest Service - tell the brands who built their empires on public forest lands to speak out! They're bigger and have more power to push for this to stop. Flood their socials and direct emails. Remember, money talks

I was once catching up with a few people whose careers I respect to get some thoughts about what to do next and one of them said
"You know, your next thing doesn't have to be bigger than your last thing."
And it remains one of the most creatively freeing things I've ever heard.
A grayscale digital sketch of Callie hugging Edwyn while he’s holding a cup of hot cocoa from the Sir Callie series by Esme Symes-Smith. Callie is smiling as their face is squished against his arm, & Edwyn looks surprised by the sudden hug, though has a slight smile on his face.
