I think today I’ll draw my inspiration from this wonderful woman and her placard who I saw on the recent massive demonstration in London!

Today’s the day we show our support for refugees in Colchester. If you’re in North Essex please join us at 11.30 am at St Botolphs to say loud and clear #RefugeesAreWelcomeHere 1/2
If you want to stop Farage the first thing you must do is register vote.
Don’t forget the Chartists and the Suffragettes in some cases sacrificed their lives for our right to vote. Let’s use it to stop the racists.

Resident doctors are once again out on the picket lines across England. This dispute was entirely avoidable. We were close to getting a deal before the Government changed the goalposts at the last minute.
All resident doctors are asking for is a fair offer on jobs and pay.
Today Ireland marks the anniversary of Connolly’s #EasterRising. As a socialist I share historian Geoff Bell talking about the fight for a united Ireland.
Solidarity with those working for a united Ireland today,

The Labour Together attacks on not only politicians such as John but journalists as well is utterly appalling. Want to know more? Have a listen to Paul Holden author of The Fraud on the Labour Left Podcast.

Incredible posts by @johnmcdonnellmp.bsky.social
There needs to be a full independent investigation into Labour Together.
Did they also commission APCO to investigate McDonnell? And if so how many other Labour MPs have they done this too?
🌹 Reset the Labour Party
Members from across our Party are uniting behind a call to urgently reset the Party.
Labour must restore democracy, restore democratic selections, end the suspension of MPs and move away from top-down control.
More details here: resetlabour.co.uk
I’m very pleased to this outbreak of left unity. In the face of the defrauding of Labour members by Labour Together it’s absolutely essential.
Here’s Paul Holden telling the full Labour Together story.

Hopefully it will make many Labour Party members aware of how exactly we got into the terrible situation we find ourselves in.

Every Labour organisation must move motions at their next meeting supporting the Brum bin workers facing big cuts in their wages. We mustn’t allow Starmer & his right wing wreckers to destroy our party & its link with working people. 2/2
Solidarity with the #BrumBinStrike
120 years ago this year a group of MPs in Parliament first took the name of Labour. It is an unmitigated disaster that Keir Starmer’s poor leadership is putting at risk Labour’s historic link with the unions that created it!

On #IWD2026 I’ve written an article celebrating all the wonderful socialist feminists who’ve appeared on the Labour Left Podcast.

On #SocialistSunday how are Labour supporters and members feeling about our defeat in #GortonAndDenton?
I’m still livid and here’s why 👇
Liking the red colour coding of Mr Angry!
I was angry yesterday as I desperately want Labour to defeat Reform at the next General Election. I’m worried that Starmer’s factionalism and intense dislike like of the Left will ease Farage into No 10. So, yes I’m livid!
Finally, please consider voting Left for change in Labour’s 2026 internal elections. I also urge you to transfer your votes to the soft left’s @mainstreamlbr to unite all those in the party who want to see change.

It is now our duty today & everyday to look in the mirror & ask ourselves what can we do to stop Wes Streeting - Mandelson’s protégée - from becoming the next Labour Leader so we can save our party. You can’t do it alone so consider joining Momentum

Make no mistake if it wasn’t for the Labour Right’s vicious factionalism we would, this morning, be celebrating Andy Burnham’s great victory in #GortonAndDenton. 3/5
Starmer has just lost Labour’s 38th safest seat. The Green’s have won their seemingly unwinnable 127th target seat. The credit for this result belongs in its entirety to Labour’s right wing. But at least we can say Labour’s right did not gift the seat to Reform. 2/5
This weekend every Labour Member and affiliated Trade Unionist should be angry beyond belief at what Peter Mandelson, Morgan McSweeney and Keir Starmer have done to our Labour party.

Scargill’s response to the Clause IV (4) abolition was to leave Labour & establish the Socialist Labour Party. By doing so he overstated the clause’s significance & undermined his ability to fight back against Blair. Here’s my critical assessment in Labour Briefing in 1996. 6/6
The left responded with a campaign to defend the existing Clause IV (4). And of course we had a badge! Here’s a slightly battered version from my archive. 5/6
Tony Blair had Clause IV (4) in his sights. Even before his election as Leader he wrote a Fabian pamphlet advocating revisionism. He saw the rewording of the clause as an opportunity to underline how New Labour was fundamentally different. In 1994 as Leader he acted and won. 4/6
The nearest Labour ever got to acting on its socialist commitment was Atlee’s post war Labour Government. The post war story of our best ever Labour Government and its introduction of public ownership is wonderfully portrayed in Ken Loach’s The Spirit of ‘45 3/6
Clause IV (4) was always seen by many party members to be Labour’s socialist commitment but that somewhat overstated its impact on Labour’s actual practice! The Manchester Guardian report on the clause’s adoption on 27 February 1918 certainly saw it that way (cutting below). 2/6
#OTD on 26 February 1918 the Labour Party adopted Clause IV (4) of the Labour Party constitution. The original wording of 2018 can still be seen below on my old 1987 membership card. 1/6
Proud to be part of a democratic socialist movement which is truly humanitarian, an opponent of war crimes and an advocate of self determination throughout the world. From Ukraine to Gaza our socialism comes from below.
I am proud that the outstanding socialist feminist @lynne-segal.bsky.social made Frankeska a class hero when she was a guest on the Labour Left Podcast. One of the shows finest nominations to date.
