Looks great!

Traffic cutover to new infra was boring. Just how I like it.
For sure. Less interested in recreating Vercel on top of k8s. Currently setting up cluster on DOKs, but had been keeping an eye on Talos.
As an alternative to the vercels or EKS/DOKs?
That keyboard is fire.
Check out derekr.github.io/datastar-sw-ex…. Datastar (hypermedia) server in a service worker. Local-only data (in this example) and no main thread/SPA routing.
OK you can now build your own lists of Oscars picks without signing up. If you do want to start/join a pool you can sign up and your lists will carry over.
noms.club/buckets
Makes sense. I def notice in for certain things and generally on MacBook things feel more responsive, but not wildly so.
Lighter is doing a lot of lifting there for sure. Not trying to split hairs, but more about what you get value wise. Nothing wrong with lit and not intending to split hairs.
But Datastar, SSE w/ brotli compression and browser features like preloading/speculation rules really close the gap wrt to the network latency.
Yea check a lot of my recent posts. They’re all Datastar projects. They have a solution for more client oriented features, but generally preferred to keep state on the server.
Ah sorry to hear.
It's pretty great stuff. Pairs well w/ Datatstar. Made a small realtime atproto firehose example using them github.com/derekr/at-a-st….
Y’all are barking up the data-star.dev tree!
They also ship a feature called Rocket that would be lighter weight web component story compared to lit data-star.dev/reference/rock….
Check out data-star.dev. Feels like a great fit for some future features like persistent widgets (push HTML over SSE and morph in to dom). Also generally the best framework if you're wanting that old-school PHP-like dev experience and very minimal JS (~11.30kb).
Going to start working on some more paper cuts and fun stuff like syncing/exporting your picks to your PDS.
Make as many lists as you want and when you're in a pool you can copy them there so you can play however you want per-pool or just use the same list over and over.
Sharing noms.club a little early. Every year a build an Oscar pool website for friends/family as an excuse to speed-run new tech/patterns. Still working on it, but foundations are there and you can start making picks before joining a pool.
Help me spice up my life!
That's rough man. Sorry to hear. <3
I’ve been running nightly builds and they’ve been pretty stable for a while. You get access to these features a lot sooner.
You catch this in December? www.sanity.io/blog/you-sho...
So this looks like the same experience I've been sharing recently, but it's running against an actual local server instead of service worker. It's basically the same server with adapters do db (indexdb vs sqlite).
Nice!
